Quoting: KimyrielleBeing my brutally honest self...thanks, but we don't need yet another garage game on Linux. We got a few thousand of these. What's Turok anyway? What we need at this point are AAA titles. Stuff that makes people go "Wow, you Penguin people can play THAT???" Icculus is a human porting machine who can get anything ported you throw at him. His talents are completely wasted porting B list games. Again, what's Turok? Somebody go convince Bethesda or a company like it to let him have a go at their back catalog. Please?Well Turok was a triple a game back when it came out but yeah we dont really need games pre 2008 ported as they run fine on linux via wine or emulators. But nothing and i mean nothing is going to convince Bethesda to port unless. Companies like Sega and 2k release everything day and date on linux other publishers would take note and say okay linux is viable now. Basically if its from 2k/Sega/Codemasters/THQ Nordic(aqquired deep silver) strong chance of it coming to linux via feral. However Ea activision Bethesda and Ubisoft no chance even though EA offer origin on mac ffs.

Quoting: EikeYou mean like when warner brothers told them to stop work on Batman Arkham Knight and then told them its not coming out you mean like that kind of contract.Quoting: Whitewolfe80I doubt they would and even more so they could. You're signing contracts before starting to port...Quoting: EikeWhat you dont think MS could or would pull the plug given they now own the IP ?Quoting: Whitewolfe80Well it wont be hellblade now Mircosoft just bought them annouced at E3This wouldn't affect Feral if they're already porting it.

Quoting: LeopardThis price is crazy high to be honest.23 quid its not bad, not saying you are of this mindset but there does seem to be this mindset that indies games should be under 15 quid (18usd) that says to be inheritantly people are always expecting less of indie games than they do triple A. I know not every indie game is gold and I am personally tired of the retro pixel art style games and rouge likes but i know i am in a minority but there are some indie gems that are worth the price. Shovel knight for example is the same price when not on offer as this new game and many people didnt bat an eyelid at shovel knights pricing.

I have said before and i ll say it again I have become very concerned about triple a ports yes i iknow its only natural the momentium slowed down but its june half way through the year and we have had two triple A games Tomb Raider ROTR and Total war Britannia (which i grant you is recent but not a surprise as it uses the Attilla engine) I hope am just reading to much into it and we will get at least two big games this year or at least an annoucement that Hitman 2 is coming to linux day one since they just annouced the pre order bonus of getting the first game free if you buy the second one.

Quoting: Stupendous ManBig publishers buying small studios is never a good thing for the customer. Do we really want a few large publishers only and not small independent studios with creative freedom?I wouldnt call Paradox big in terms of reach Codemasters is bigger and they only have two franchises worth a damn and they have stayed linux friendly granted they use vp to port their linux games but Paradox are certainly trying to become a big publisher rather than being the grand strat guys if they continue to support linux then good.

Quoting: GuestHow can I get DXVK 0.54 to show up on Lutris? Lutris is still on 0.52 at the momentLutris people its one dude Matthew commandant find him hanging out on linux game cast in the chat so if you cant submit an error code to him you can always find there user name is Stryder
Or do I have to wait for Lutris people to update it?
Also, has anyone tested Tekken 7 on this latest version of DXVK? I'm hoping the graphical bugs on a few of the stages have been fixed, the game is SO damn close to being 100% perfect under wine aside from those graphical bugs on some of the stages

Quoting: g000hWell horses for courses personally mad max is a driving game with action combat so controller anything 3rd person controller so Tomb raider etc basically anything that was built for a console I play on a controller. When it comes to fps games always mouse and keyboard same with flight games, rts games etcQuoting: Whitewolfe80Personally, I am diametrically opposed to your game play preference. For me, I use a gamepad or joystick for driving games, platformers, or fighters. But I'd never ever want to touch such controls for a 3D shooter like DOOM, Xonotic, Painkiller, Serious Sam or a 3D RPG like Witcher 2, Deus Ex, Shadow of Mordor, Mad Max, etc.Quoting: adamhmNo worries thanks for the reply if i get it working i will put up what i did for anyone else that wants itQuoting: Whitewolfe80Really quick question does the saboteur work with a controller from your script, 3rd person shooters are not that much fun on mouse and keyboard for me.I've never tried before, but I quickly checked with an X360 controller just now and the game didn't recognise it. It might be possible to get it working with some tweaking but it's not something I have any experience with as I almost exclusively use kb+m.
edit right changed some wine dependcies added xinput buttons worked sticks did not however used the guide over on boiling steam now have controller working perfectly. Thank you for the script.
OpenGL to be deprecated in the next macOS release, could mean interesting things for Linux gaming

Quoting: subWith the bulk of indies using xna or unity it wont really effect thatQuoting: ArdjeI've heard a developer say that the only reason he also has mac as a platform is because it is so easy to generate the mac version. As for money it wasn't worth any hassle. Now I don't know what he said about the linux version, as I was playing edeejay at the same time.I think this could be seriously problematic. This affects indie devs not using one of the big engines, that include Linux targets. If it is not possible anymore to at least more or less cover Mac+Linux with the same effort, than the little Linux alone market share won't cut it for many devs, I'm afraid.
