At this moment, we only test on NVIDIA hardware, based on what we currently own. When the game moves to a final release, we'll try to have more testing on AMD hardware ; but hopefully by this point we will have our AMD issues resolved.
This sounds a bit confusing. How can they resolve such issues by that time, if they don't test on AMD?
Memory of previous articles suggests to me that their AMD issues are UE4 engine related. Something about the way Mesa worked shaders? So if release is still a long way off, UE4 might resolve these issues as a matter of course.

Pure speculation on my part though.

I agree![/quote]Whaaaa? I didn't say that! no_information_here quoted me as Kuromi. But since I agree... it's all good! Also agree with Kuromi on 3079/3089, but those games aren't anywhere near as accessible initially and nor are they as polished. I'll have to try 5089 though as I did eventually really enjoy the first two.

I had to refund this in the end. There just too many bugs and horrible design decisions:

  • Interactions are only available after a trigger in the story - so that floor panel you want to open? Nope, not until you're told to look for a floor panel...

  • Sometimes those interactions fail to trigger. Restart your game..

  • Mediocre voice acting

  • You walk like a geriatric. You crawl even slower.

  • The torch barely illuminates the 9cm circle it projects.

  • In one scene, a jump-scare involving rats, there were no rats.

  • In "linux-y" terminal puzzles, you don't "cd", you "sf". This was incredibly annoying. Might just be me. Also, no tab-completion. Also "list" instead of "ls" and "open" instead of "cat". It all added up to complete frustration

  • The first 20 minutes of game has you listening to a constant, loud alarm, before you get to turn it off.

Ultimately though, I think the biggest disappointment is that despite the really nice graphics and FPS dynamic, all you're really doing is walking a pre-set route from one puzzle (which locks you in the room until you solve it) to the next puzzle (which locks you in the room until you solve it). There's no exploration, no interaction with objects unless you're told to. It breaks the feeling of freedom that I usually expect from an first person perspective.

Ha! id Software were mere copycats of MIDI Maze (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooks6QWpmk8) with their unoriginal Wolfenstein 3D! I haven't heard the developers of MIDI Maze whine at the time, though.
I once had five Atari STs set up in my bedroom, linked by midi cables. Power bars everywhere, TVs jammed together. What a game. And it worked brilliantly! We played it for for hours, knowing that we'd likely never go to such lengths ever again. We were right... Worth it though.

Embarrassing that Epic have never released Fortnite for Linux, particularly after Tim Sweeney's childish rant about the Windows 10 store. Words without power. Funnily enough, not a single one of Tim's rants (and there have been a few) have ever even mentioned Linux, despite his company's engine supporting the platform. It's like he's fundamentally unaware of it.

Or, more likely, money talks and he know who butters his bread: Microsoft.

I wish they'd just release it. It was slated for early/mid 2017 and we're at the end of the year and they're still firing out EA updates.

To be fair, I did crumble and buy Oxygen Not Included in EA, and it's amazing. But I don't want to ruin this, Rimworld, or the many other titles I'm waiting to spend money on if they'd only just hurry up and release their product!

I don't think they've said anything yet - which is a bit depressing cos I really want to buy this one as an official release. And it's 60% off too.

Quoting: KuromiI play this game for, like, 5-6 hours and more or less like it. There is definitely weak point in this game - certain lack of variety in action, little unfair enemies (with better aim and coming in packs), very small variation in weaponry - as i mentioned i liked 3089 (3079 too) and one point i liked it is ability to assemble your gun from spare parts - with enough effort it was possible to make ultrasniper rifle with explosive bullets or something like that, but not in Tolva.
That i like is certain mystery and exploration parts. I like these tranquil silent fields. I like these ancient derelicts.
Its not best game ever and its doesnt ring "WOW", but i feel like finishing it.
I finished in about 7 hours, so you should be pretty close. It has its flaws, but I loved the experience. With a bit more polish and more variety in the guns and enemies, this could have been an absolutely massive hit. As it stands, I highly recommend it, but agree with much of what you say.

No regrets though, and I might very well go back for another run.
