You'd have to go Ryzen 7 with itx as the threadripper (TR4) socket is way too big to fit onto an itx board. The smallest you can go with TR is matx and the x399M Taichi currently, though you lose four ram slots.

Yep! I studied for my rhcsa/ce on there. So glad I locked In my $200/year rate. So worth it.

This cpu is more than a cpu, it’s a part of my livelihood. I use it every day to help me earn money. That’s how I can justify it. Sure, it’s overkill for gaming but there’s a lot more that I do.

The 4K option is only available with the GTX 1070. +1 to Ryzen/Vega machines from them.

Update: 4.17rc2 + Mesa 18.X-git results in 37-40fps. So about +5fps better than mesa 17.3.8. Still have no idea why 18 is required for Vega GPUs.

Yes, The FE has higher base and boost clocks, though mine does throttle a bit unless I force the fans/undervolt (currently not possible on Linux - waiting for 4.17). After my exam I'm going to give it the liquid metal treatment to see if that improves things a little bit.
