Games i played more than a couple of hours this year:
Valheim ofcourse!
Discovered some good Portal2 mods and had some great time with:
Portal Stories: Mel (Just awesome how well made it is)
Portal Reloaded - It sure forces you to use your brain!
Raft. Picked it up couple of times with my friend again. It's a great coop game, not so interesting in single player.
Black Mesa. Not my first playthrough. I still love the redesigned Zen and cannot get enough of it.
OpenTTD. I always tried to find a good recent transport sim but eventually discovered that this is actually still very good and played that instead.
Logic World. Being in the beta group i kinda had to but i still love these type of games too!
7 Days to Die. It seems like every year this comes up at one point. Good that it still gets updates to keep it fresh.
Infinifactory, That's just my type of game and i keep playing it through again to see if i can make something better than before.
Recently i also picked up Farming Simulator 19 and Far Cry 5 on sale and have been playing them. To my surprise FS19 suddenly took all my gaming time and now it already has almost 90h gametime!
Not many fresh and AAA games in my list but i don't mind. I have limited time to play and if i do i rather use the time to play something i know is good than try to experiment and see if something suits me. Sometimes i have to, else i wouldnt find any new games at all but i usually let other people do the main work and i read reviews before getting into something! :)

Valheim adds a Jack-o-turnip and tweaks melee weapons to use less Stamina

Updates have been good and no negative things to say about them. That's quite unusual with EA titles. Developers seem to have their plans sorted out and the game evolves in a logical way.
I just cannot wait until they do something with the endless greydwarfs that constantly annoy you day and night. In later game they pose no threat but fill your inventory with useless stuff you don't need and always bug you the worst possible time.

Quoting: fabertaweIt's currently moved up to fifth on my all time played list (Steam)4th on my list with 323h! At the moment it's still going strong but slowly running out of new things to do.

Just like last time, Valheim. I have finished this game with Xpander and thought i could move to some other games but no, i just started over trying completely solo experience and it's still fun!
I have plans to try Surviving mars again and maybe some Raft. Let's see when Valheim lets me go :)

Valheim is now one of the most successful survival games on Steam with two million sold

Quoting: NanobangI feel like its "one of ours," and it's gone into the world and "done good."Indeed, i also got tens of hours of fun when playing the alpha. Don't get too carried away with this Linux thing though. Pretty much noone will ever know or care that it was partly developed on Linux and had day 0 support. Only Linux people will talk about it, like Arch people advertise their distro of choice.

Quoting: Guestbut what else is new in this price range and genre/style?That's the thing, since when indie survival games even had a chance to get that popular? Everyone was talking about that the genre is dying partly because at one point almost every indie dev did their own survival game and market was flooded by broken/unfinished alphas. So there certainly are unknown surv games out there in this price range but they have failed to gain popularity for some reason. Valheim just came and took it all in days!

I would also like to know how is this possible?
It's good the game is doing good and it is a good game, but to be on the very top of the charts while still being EA?

Interesting idea but i don't think it will work as well as it sounds.
First, supporting every possible combination of HW people might have will certainly be a nightmare, if not impossible altogether. With pre built consoles you at least have a certain set of hw to make the software work with.
Second, they are bit late to the party. Gone are the days where most pc users knew and could easily boot into other media because the option was right there on POST. These days, thanks to fastboot and UEFI, most people don't even know how to get into UEFI settings, let alone change boot device.

Vintage Story... Even though there is no counter i think i'm around 50 hours in and still haven't explored even half of the games content and get surprised by its mechanics often. Also the scenery and atmosphere is awesome. Kinda looks like a MC from screenshots but it really isnt, it's a hell of a lot nicer :)
As for controllers i have 2 Steam and 1 PS3 controller. I like steam controller the most but i really haven't used others much so i'm probably biased. Also the fact that i often play games that require mouse helps SC since it has awesome mouse emulation.

Logic World release delayed again until May 1st - developer says it's just not ready

Well, at least they didn't do crowdfunding and then end up delaying it 4 times.
But still worth the wait for the people who like these kind of games. Especially considering that it has great Linux support that will not just go away. (not surprising if TUNG in its high days had like 25% Linux downloads) They even have Linux testers to make sure everything is working in "real" setups not just sterile live environments devs are testing it on.
