Metro Exodus is still planned to release for Linux and macOS

Quoting: headless_cyborgI don't mind DXVK as long as it's officially supported with a Linux icon on Steam store page because that would mean that the devs officially acknowledged Linux as a gaming platform and did something to support it. This is much better than what other devs (for example No Man's Sky) do - hiding in the shadows, fixing some Proton bugs but being too scared to make anything official. The Linux icon is a clear indication of taking Linux people seriously enough to list the game as Linux supported, that means a lot to me and I'll support such devs regardless of what technology was used for the porting process. CDPR could do the same with Witcher 3 and I wouldn't say a single bad word about it.
Also, we're not talking about DXVK under wine/Proton, but dxvk library used with a native Linux binary. It's not emulated, it's a proper port.

Quoting: omer666Be assured that as soon as it's released natively on Linux, it's an insta-buy for me.
Same here, and I have good hope it will support RTX! For when I finally can land an rtx 3080 in 2022 :)
Their port uses dxvk so this would be dependent on whether dxvk is getting raytracing support soon.
I wonder, since it has been so long, is it really dependant on dxvk, or was it just a step ? Because if you have dxvk, you can iron out all the rest first, then port the graphic pipeline no ? I'm fairly curious if they will really use in the end.
I think they will likely stick with it. But as someone pointed out, if they wanted to add raytracing support they may need to swap it out for their own work or wait for Proton-vkd3d to support it, which might take a bit long.

Quoting: GuestTo add to the previous comments, the stadia version shows in the credits it uses DXVK. And stadia is debian.
Lets hope this is a new tendency that will pick up momentum...
I'll just quietly hope all morons will vanish sometime thanks
You first.

Port of what?
The Linux native port of Metro Exodus uses dxvk.

there is no Linux native port of Metro Exodus tho? And if it would end up using DXVK after all, that's not much of a native port anyway
The Stadia port is Linux native, and the link I posted clearly shows they have a native port on Steam, even though it's not released yet. And DXVK is fine as an easy dx to vk translation. The performance hit is minimal.

Quoting: elmapul"Aside from these enhanced versions for Gen 9, we recently brought Metro Exodus to more players through Amazon’s ‘Luna’ streaming service; and we’re also working on dedicated Linux* and Mac versions of the game. "

Stadia runs linux, maybe it will be avaliable for stadia but not for desktop? but i doubt it, they would say stadia instead...
wich is strange, why not relase for both?

anyway, this gen 9 thing is an issue, what if we receive the current pc/ps4/xbox one version, while ps5 and xbox series receive an enhanced version?
It is already on Stadia since yonks ago, plus we have been seeing them upload files to their Steam repo.

I just stopped playing Hadean Lands. Rather hard, extremely good. Didn't finish (yet). Hope to revisit.
The game has got a very interesting way to cope with dead ends, resulting in kind of meta puzzling.

Does anybody have other recommendations in the quality and size of Thaumistry or even Hadean Lands?
Hadean Lands is great. It has a way to make you really feel like you did something smart when you figure out a puzzle.

Not parser-based, but have you ever tried any of the Choice of Games titles like Heroes Rise: The Prodigy?

Quoting: rustybroomhandleWait, so Asscreed Valhalla works already with VKD3D-Proton? Been looking around and seeing people not having much success with that.
He may mean that debugging of those games now working, not all those games themselves (yet).
There is a screenshot of it running on the linked blog post.
Ah wait, all the screenshots in that post is vkd3d-proton running on windows 10.
