Aspyr have been diversifying their market a bit, trying various things. Business-wise this is maybe smart, but this does seem to mean their AAA Linux/Mac ports are way less prolific than Feral, and I'm a bit worried that we won't be getting future ports of e.g. Borderlands 3 as a result. Might require another cookie bomb.

EDIT: Looking at it closer now it looks more like it's playing it straight, blissfully unaware of the horrible thing it depicts. Unmanned specifically set out to make a statement.

Quoting: Doc AngeloEh... this seems to cross the border between fiction and reality for me in a very wrong way. I don't think I want to play this.I guess it strikes a similar nerve to Unmanned where you play a drone pilot.

Quoting: Purple PuddingIt reminds me of Her Story [External Link], a game I'd love to play on Linux...I once asked the dev of that if there'd be a Linux version and he said he'd be interested, but there was some issue with the video player used. I guess it's a limited third party thing.

I enjoyed the original Spatials, and this one is shaping up to be everything that one needed to be for true greatness.

Linux build definitely running smoother than previously. There does seem to be some kind of slowdown that creeps in right after cutscenes though... might be memory not freeing up. Busy digging for more helpful info now.

Yus! The first was charming and fun. Had to use antimicro to map keyboard controls to my gamepad though, but fairly sure the new one will be fine since Steamworld Heist had proper gamepad support.
The Signal From Tölva should be on Linux soon, last few bugs are being squashed

I have played through this and definitely enjoyed it. There's not a whole lot to do, and the pacing is quite slow, but it makes up for this with gorgeous painterly environments full of wreckage and frickin huge space frigates. All 'n all I found the slow burn to gradually suck me in and was quite sad when it ended.

Quoting: peta77Linux port is not out yet, just appeared on SteamDB. Also, chances are it's not a difficult port since I'm certain it's not an entirely new engine between releases.Quoting: KimyrielleSo they managed to port the game more or less overnight after asking if people wanted? Including securing permissions?very good question.
That or they decided to port that game LOOOOOOONG before asking in public.
What's more likely?
it actually makes the poll on peoples interest of a port look extremely ridiculous...
I'm still more into GT/Hill Climb and long tracks, lost interest in formula one a while ago.. so it's not very likely i'd buy it... but it's good to see high quality games being ported, that improves the attractivity of linux overall, though the response here for the port was mixed...

Reminder that X: Rebirth is not the terrible game it was at launch any more. Something to consider if you need an immediate space fix.
