Can we please stop with this "x joined y" euphemism? Why are we repeating PR speech? State it plain and simple: they've been bought.

Gloomhaven, the dungeon-crawling adaptation of the board game should see Linux support at release

A colleague of mine at work has been telling me how great the board game is. I probably won't get the people together to ever regularily play it (and since I already have three pen & paper roleplaying groups + one irregular Legends of Andor group, I'm not exactly "always free" either), so I'm looking forward to this adapation.

Quoting: stretch611I'm still not going to get Dream Daddy. :D
Why? It's a good game.

It's cute, it's got some real heart (the relationship to your daughter, for example, is a part of the story). And yes, a good selection of diverse guys and their kids to get to know.

Seriously, it's a nice comfort game for a lazy Sunday or somesuch.

Need a little something for Valentine's Day? Arcade Spirits is a pretty good choice

The writing is by Stefan Gagne (aka Twoflower) [External Link], who some might know from his days writing several Neverwinter Nights modules [External Link].

He's also put out other works of fiction on the web for ages. Some of which I've read and really enjoyed, back in the day. His other stuff is on my to-read list, which is...well, unfortunately huge.

The war of the PC stores is getting ugly, as Metro Exodus becomes a timed Epic Store exclusive

Frankly, I don't think Epic wants to better the situation, they just want to be the ones benefiting instead of Valve.

I said it before: I think exclusivity is fundamentally bad. That goes for availability and stores just as it goes for platforms, operating systems and architectures. What we need is radical portability and availability.

Heh, I'm starting my christmas vacation in...*checks watch* one hour, so I guess that's what I'm going to play soon :)

Waiting for all the DLCs to come out seems to have worked well for me this time around

NVIDIA have now made PhysX open source

Now someone "only" needs to migrate that code over to use OpenCL instead of CUDA, leading to a fully portable physics system.
