GOL Asks: What Have You Been Playing Recently?

Some more obscure games I played:

The Heroes Rise trilogy [External Link]. A text-only game in the style of a choose-your-own-adventure book about superheroes. I loved it. The game scripts are readable (ChoiceScript), so I had double the fun peeking behind the curtains.

Journal [External Link]. A cute little game about being a teenager. A bit pretentious, perhaps.

Heileen 2 [External Link]. While the first part of the series was okay, the second one was...not good. Magic tarot cards that come out of nowhere (you literally find in the sand on the beach), questionable moral lessons, choices leading to completely disconnected outcomes, a stupid/naive main character, .... I really regretted buying that game.

Redshirt [External Link]. Funny and interesting at first, it IMHO quickly falls apart and feels like a grind. At the end I found myself wondering why I play. The Wot I Think on RPS [External Link] is spot-on, I feel.

Yeah, this is very sad. Like many others, I see this weird black cross everwhere [External Link], making the game unplayable for me. For me, it looks like some vertex coordinates are broken, with them going off into infinity; but that's just a half-educated guess.

They said they can't replicate that bug, for some reason. A shame.
I offered to run a debug build with debug printf()s or something for them (aka simplistic stone-age debugging), but so far they haven't taken me up on that offer. I guess they can't use that help. *shrug*

I even briefly considered setting up vogl and see if I it's feasible to give them a complete GL dump (depending on how big that would be; I have no idea). Unfortunately, the vogl build script gives me a weird chroot error on my Debian system, and I can't make heads or tails of that. And I frankly don't see why I should put so much time into that on a hunch, especially when I have too much stuff going on already anyway...

Sound is fluent for me in both XCOM, and all the UE4 demos, and I run directly on ALSA. But I also have a proper soundcard (a SoundBlaster Live 7.1; I unfortunately lack ISA slots for the superior SoundBlaster 16), and not some unboard shit.
