Heroes of Might and Magic II & III open source game engines get new releases

Quoting: Craggles086Trying to remember the name of the Dos game made before Heroes of Might and Magic. When they were developing some of the ideas that went into Heroes.

Can not seem to remember, but would love an open source version of it.
King's Bounty?
Thanks.

Had totally ignored the Kings Bounty sequels and did not twig that they were a follow up to the Dos game I played as a kid. Might have to give them another look.

But sunk a lot of hours into that first Kings Bounty, if their not selling many copies any more it would be nice if they open sourced the code.

EA AntiCheat could spell trouble for Steam Deck / Linux

Was good while it lasted EA, if you are moving into security at the kernel level then I guess you do not like the kernel options that Linux brings. One option Valve could have is making the Steam Deck run on a custom kernel that is Locked on the Deck. But it would not win any fans from the open source community and I do not see it happening.

Quote from EA,

“PC cheat developers have increasingly moved into the kernel, so we need to have kernel-mode protections to ensure fair play and tackle PC cheat developers on an even playing field,” explains Elise Murphy, senior director of game security and anti-cheat at EA. “As tech-inclined video gamers ourselves, it is important to us to make sure that any kernel anti-cheat included in our games acts with a strong focus on the privacy and security of our gamers that use a PC.”

Valve overhauls the Steam Store with new categories, hubs and filtering

I give up on searching for what I want on the Store most of the time, unless I already know the name. Most of the time I depend on Google.

If I could find an easier way to select multiple fields it might be better. Not getting my hopes up for new design.

Doesn’t China own Tencent? Not sure Embracer and Microsoft can get their hands on everything.

Lonely Mountain Downhill
is my two cents worth.
Might cost a bit more than two cents though.

If you like downhill bike riding through beautiful nature shots. And trying to run the fastest ride down the hill. Lots of tracks to unlock and new bikes and gear.

Sadly only one player..

SteamOS 3.3 and Steam Deck Client updates released for all users

Think he could be disappointed by the results here, but maybe.. :)

“Updated controller firmware utilities to support future controller hardware revisions.”

“Now personally I'm convinced that the reason the Steam Deck dock has been delayed is not because of the dock itself but because of the fact that you'd need a controller to get the most out of docked mode. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it seems like a new Steam Controller that retains the Steam Deck's control layout is pretty much a necessity for the dock and the future of the Steam OS/Steam Machine concept. To me a Steam Controller 2 feels more like a question of *when*, not *if*.

But there's really no other way to interpret this, right? Is this basically confirmation that a new Steam Controller is in development?”

That said, I would love a Steam Controller 2, please Valve.
Yes please! I live in fear of my Steam Controller dying. There is nothing out there that can stand in its place.
Mine just died!

A steam controller based on the Steam Deck controls would be amazing. Both joysticks and touch pads.
My old one got packed away in a cupboard somewhere for emergencies.

Bought a new one when I heard they soon might become endangered. Would prefer not to have to fall back to old one, but we will see.

Currently swapping between my Steam Controller and an Astro C40.

Steam Controller mainly for FPS and games requiring some mouse input
but Windows does some weird stuff with the Astro C40 at times which make it invisible to the OS.

Steam Client on Linux on the other hand has never had any problems with either controller.
