Transport Fever has a fresh patch out with community-requested improvements, new game teased

Quoting: skinnyrafIt might be time to revisit. I spent 100 hours in Train Fever but only 33 in Transport Fever, despite the latter being obviously better.

There's something deeply satisfying in creating a well-functioning transport network :)
I have 94/5 hours in those two and consider to get some hours into transport fever, but I want to know what kind of game they are making first. Transport fever is basically an improved train fever, so if their new game is the next generation of the same, then I'll wait for that instead.

Cities: Skylines updated, a great time to pick it up with the newer Industries DLC

Cities:Skylines is very fun sometimes, but at other times it is quite annoying. It has a lot of room for improvement, but it is very hard to get things right. I hate the automatic grid around curved roads so I usually zone around boring rectangular layouts instead. I don't like to have tiny 1x1 and 2x1 homes in a district of 4x4 houses. I would prefer to be able to place the grid myself close to, but not necessarily hugging the road.

I also dislike the way roads are constructed. I would like to control the lanes individually in some junctions. E.g. have the left lane go up, the middle lane straight, and the right lane tunnel down into the ground. I would also like to have much gentler curves when splitting or merging roads. The 45-degree angle requirement for splitting or merging is ridiculous. Adding an additional lane for 50-200m would be much nicer.

The game is going in the right direction though. The freeform parks are great, although a bit limited, and the industries are somewhat nice as well. The level up requirements for unlocking additional buildings aren't too nice though. Still, the idea is great, and I hope they make a similar DLCs for residential and commercial too. Like parks they shouldn't require a road to each building individually, but rather have zone specific "roads". Shopping districts should have plaza where people walk everywhere, allowing some goods deliveries along the shortest path from a road. Residential zones should have houses connected to footpaths and require designated garbage zones connected to roads for garbage trucks.

Metropolisim aims to be the deepest city-building simulation experience ever, will have Linux support

Cities skylines is a great casual city builder, but I wouldn't call it very deep even with all the DLCs. I think it would be nice to see if anyone could pull off adding a lot more depth to it, but I suspect even if they succeed it will be a niche game.

For now, the experimental Linux (and Mac) port of ARMA 3 will not see any more updates

I am fine with the initial Linux port being later than the Windows version in some cases, but if the port isn't done in a way that permits updates at the same time for similar platforms, then I don't see the point.

Winning the game isn't too annoying, but getting 100% is, although I guess getting 100% in any game with collectibles is annoying.

I would recommend either playing psychonauts 1, or watch a let's play for the story, before psychonauts 2. While I think psychonauts 2 will be fun stand alone, I think it will be even more fun if you know the back story.

I fail to see (for practical purposes) how Android is 'unix-like', when anything that faces the user comes from an opaque java layer.
My point was that ubuntu/fedora/arch etc are more similar to the BSDs than to android, despite android and desktop linux distributions using similar linux kernels. And the BSDs generally don't use much GNU software.

Actually they have two: Android and ChromeOS.
Android making an interesting sidelight on certain long-running naming discussions; unusually it is I believe Linux but not GNU/Linux. And indeed much of the feeling of it not being really Linux comes precisely from that lack of GNU.
