Steam gets a whole lot of improvements for the new Big Picture Mode

QuoteThe bug where opening the Steam menu (at least on Fedora KDE Plasma + NVIDIA) shows what's behind the Big Picture Mode window is still present, annoyingly.

This happens on Gnome with Nvidia proprietary as well

The focus issue was one of the showstoppers for me on my Steam Machine, glad it got fixed!

Steam Beta update tweaks the new Big Picture Mode from Steam Deck for desktop

Quoting: Mar2ckIt's weird that they'd only force-enable GPU acceleration on Linux since lots of Windows users were also having that problem. But it looks like if you're on Linux + Nvidia then it'll just fallback to slow software rendering anyway so I hope they fix those driver woes before this reaches stable.
I'd be fine with it being a little slow if it didn't sometimes change my audio settings that I manually set up within their application and inconsistently highlighting games when browsing them in my library. 🙄 Until then I'm sticking to old BPM on my htpc

Steam Deck UI comes to Desktop in Beta to replace Big Picture Mode

I'd be okay with it being laggy but it's pretty unusable on my old Stream Machine because if I go to the library section, the UI stops properly highlighting the selected item so I have no idea what's selected until I click on it.

I just replayed The Secret of Monkey Island. I had hoped to replay the whole series before this dropped, but time got away from me.

In any case. Bought.

I got part way through Curse and ran out of time, too

No, if you looked at the post I linked to (you need to scroll a little bit), I just used the option -force-vulkan

Just to clarify, the Steam Deck uses the Windows version by default, but there is a Linux version. I also noticed that the Linux version uses OpenGL, which causes some texture issues for me on my other systems, forcing the game to use Vulkan fixes that.

Quoting: MohandevirIt would be really nice of them to "turn on" the standard bluetooth pairing for the Stadia controller, so we may use it elsewhere, wireless... It could make a fantastic AndroidTV controller for GeForce Now...
Yeah, they've mentioned in an faq I think somewhere that they'd eventually unlock it, hopefully they'll follow up on this if we mention to them enough.

EDIT - Adding a link to the support page mentioning they might eventually implement full Bluetooth support: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9338851?hl=en

I was wondering why The Last Campfire was "unsupported", it was working fine on my Deck, I played it through to completion (from a previous save). Guess I know now!
