Nice to finally hear something. And personally, i'm also fine with official proton support.
BUT - as much as it pain me (again), i will hold out until the next sale to finally grab it. Having a hard time doing the native version and finally ditching it is one thing. Ignoring all questions for the promised native version while having a perfectly running native demo and basically ghosting all Linux gamers for years is unacceptable though. Even the allmighty 'we can't say anthing until the proper release' or something like that is better than the silent treatment...

Lutris adds Amazon Games integration, plus Flatpak finally out (good for Steam Deck)

Quoting: BlackBloodRumJust be sure to check which permissions you're granting, because you could end up granting full system accessyeah, thats something i always missed on flathub - no easy way to see beforehand what is requested. Flatseal is a nice tool to get an overview. And regarding Lutris: by default it is granted full home dir access - don't know why they would do something like that tbh...

I tend to agree with the criticism about unstable APIs for many cases - but in this case, i really blame Epic for using a function deprecated for almost two decades in a recent piece of software.
Easy Anti-Cheat not working on Linux? Seems a glibc update broke it

Quoting: setzer22Honestly, this obsession with dynamically linking everything and updating as soon as possible is a huge house of cards waiting to fall under its own weight.Sounds like you should take a look at NixOS [External Link] ^^

System76 gives the Oryx Pro laptop a powerful refresh

Putting the driver into a firmwareblob and opensouring a barebones kernelspace driver that basically only loads that blob while still relying on pure proprietary userspace will hopefully yield a better experience when running the bleeding edge, but still is even less FOSS than AMD and Intel with their large binary firmware packages.

Open Source Friendly and Nvidia Graphics don't really fit together...
Alder Lake sure is a nice CPU, but nothing should stop system76 from combining them with mobile radeon, should it?
I mean, for the Lambda Tensorbook and it's ML focus, Nvidia is the better choice - but for a gaming centric Linux laptop?!
