Quoting: Lightkeybut AMD is the one with the IGP advantage.
Not really, seems the iGPU is about 30% slower than the one in alder lake desktop.

Intel reveals 13th Gen 'Raptor Lake' desktop CPUs

The real interesting part is not how fast they will be, but how efficient they will be once limited back to their sweet spot. The 7950 is pushed way to high stock and burns 230w, too. Limiting it to 142w only costs 5% performance, even at 88w it' still only an 18% loss.
Hopefully raptor lake will do better in that regard than alder lake...

It"s just a shame both companies feel the need to push their models over the limit just to have the longest dick on the charts...

NVIDIA announces Ada Lovelace their 3rd generation RTX, DLSS 3 and Portal RTX

Portal RTX sure looks fun, but those prices and TDPs are just ridiculous...

EA AntiCheat could spell trouble for Steam Deck / Linux

Even if i used windows i would do anything before i would even consider letting EA-Crapware run at Kernellevel...

Good thing they don't really have anything relevant to offer anymore that is not riddled with bullshit like microtransactions anyway...

I wouldn't be surprised if those changes are really intended to frustrate devs of alternate clients tbh...

Valve opens official Steam Deck repair centers

Quoting: LeopardI think answer to that is easy: You can just tell them " you have a drifting problem" while you actually don't have ( btw " you " here is an example, anyone can do it ) such problem, get the parts, sell them somewhere or just stock them in case if they go drifty.

As a verification process for such thing would be messy - user has a problem but wants to do repairing themselves, should we send the parts now? - i totally understand that approach. Like you can't get a camera module from Samsung, Sony, Apple etc with saying " i have warranty, give me part, i will change it" .
well, there will always bee black sheep. The question is how much you trust the customer (and of course how expensive the parts are). For example Fractal recently just sent me a replacement fan after i asked if it is a known issue with a possible workaround that a fan started ticking sometimes, despite my case being out of warranty for a year already.
Additionally, shipping, diagnosing and repairing isn't free, so if the money saved on that outweighs the money lost on dicks abusing the system, it even makes sense from a pure economy-standpoint.

So while your point is perfectly valid, it is not set in stone that sending in the whole unit to be repaired by the RMA team is the only viable course of action.

The new Library Mode in Wine manager Bottles looks awesome

Quoting: GuestShould I use it for games instead of lutris?
Depends on your usecase.
Bottles is simpler to use and provides sandboxing for the wine prefixes, in Lutris you can dive deeper into the settings and more easily adjust every aspect.

Prodeus cancels the Native Linux version, focusing on Proton compatibility (updated)

Nice to finally hear something. And personally, i'm also fine with official proton support.

BUT - as much as it pain me (again), i will hold out until the next sale to finally grab it. Having a hard time doing the native version and finally ditching it is one thing. Ignoring all questions for the promised native version while having a perfectly running native demo and basically ghosting all Linux gamers for years is unacceptable though. Even the allmighty 'we can't say anthing until the proper release' or something like that is better than the silent treatment...

Quoting: Eikeor had a running native Linux demo for the game to back.
Well, the native Prodeus Demo was running buttery smooth two years ago ;)
