Aragami: Nightfall expansion for the stealth-action game released

The first few levels are on the easier side, to teach you the mechanics. It does get difficult later on, as you have less shadow areas and more enemies. You also have 3 different goals. Eliminate all enemies, eliminate no enemies and never be detected. Complete these 3 goals make it much more challenging as well.
The game isn't perfect, but I found it was fun to play and unique enough from other games to be worth it.
Thanks.

Quoting: Avehicle7887This was one game I really wanted to love but skipped it. The gameplay and mechanics look cheap, the enemies are all deaf, blind or tunnel visioned. From all the videos I saw it seems there's no climbing either, instead you have that overpowered shadowstep which makes the game far too easy, for example where in other games you have to walk, in this you can simply shadowstep and poof right behind the enemy. What are the other games in which you refer? I would be interested in trying them out.
Combat is another thing I didn't like, it looks too slow and not very fluid. It feels sluggish when I compare it with other stealth games I played.

I bought this last night on Steam, of course making sure to do it from Linux. I have already play through Aragami, both in co-op and solo collecting all the achievements. I thought both the gameplay and the story were excellent. I hope to start playing this new DLC this weekend.

Quoting: tony1abI just bought the first part and I have fell in depression. That sounds like an odd issue. I played with no issues and the menu worked fine for me in Ubuntu 17.10 running from Steam. Same goes for a friend who was running Ubuntu 16.04. We both had Nvidia cards.
There is a serious bug in the main game menu, that makes the button 'back' irresponsive. So basically you can't use any game menu. I've reported it on the official forum on gog. But I don't know what kind of quality assurance can they have if they simply have this kind of bug in the main game menu, 2 years after the launch in 2016.
I wanted to play it badly, because this and the 'nightfall' dlc was going to be my psichologycal replacement in linux for the Batman: Arkham series.
Too bad.

Edit: I just checked. The default is ondemand, but powersave is an option as is performance, conservative, and schedutil.

Quoting: BrisseI guess this won't do much for us AMD-users since they don't usually default to "powersave"? When I used Ubuntu 17.10 I think it defaulted to "ondemand" with my Ryzen 1700X, and now I'm on Debian Sid which seems to default to "performance".I want to say that my Ryzen on Ubuntu 17.10 only has powersave and performance for options, the default being powersave.
Edit: I just realized the latter could be because I run a custom kernel.

I have played through the American campaign so far. Very fun game. Well designed levels and the game play is just as I would expect. After playing, I quickly put their first DLC into my wish list. Now I will have to watch this one as well.
Great games like this released with immediate Linux support is what makes me hopeful to the future of Linux gaming.

Playing Prey on Linux in 2018

I played Doom 3 and Quake 4 on Linux when they were new. When Prey was released to Linux, I then purchased it to have a new game to play (weren't a lot of options back then). If memory serves me, I think it had the issue even back then of the crackling audio which required the same fix you performed.
This was also one of the rare games that could have its key put into Steam to be added to your Steam library, which I did, but never played it there as it was only available for Windows in Steam.
After these 3, I think Quake Wars was the last game I purchased with CDs that was playable on Linux. Unless you count the Orange Box, then that would be the last one, but since it is available digitally as well through Steam, I do not consider it.

I am curious if this will improve running Killing Floor 2 through Wine. Right now, DX11 has to be disabled via startup switch. Graphics also then don't look as good and Steam Overlay does not work. I plan to try the update this weekend to give it a try.

I haven't picked up the expansion yet, but plan to. This game is just awesome from the graphics to the game play. So pleased that they have released this to Linux. I have put in a good amount of time and haven't run into any issues. I use my Xbox One controller which works well for it.
