Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion has dropped Linux support (updated)

Quoting: GuestBut it can't read my mind, and doesn't have a clue if I want to continue playing that game or i'm just speculating.
If you are asking for a refund via the normal "request refund" on Steam, you don't want to continue playing.
That's pretty much a given.

Quoting: Guest...but how would you prove you still want to play that game on that specific, no more supported, platform and not just having enough of it and want to regain the money?

Refunds for everyone asking when one platform is discarded?
Valve knows what platform you've been playing on.
If someone asks for a refund who played the game for a while but never on a dropped platform, they don't get the refund.

Yeah, Mechanicus was cool. Not perfect, mind you, but room for improvement is good, I guess!

Honestly just shows what I've been saying for years:

Game developers suck at software development, despite doing exactly that - usually they only don't if they themselves come from "normal" software development and possess more skills than "how to do X in Unity".
It's the natural conclusion to having too-convenient tools like Unity available, I guess.

"struggle to reliably build and test".... wow, just wow.
Stuff like that wouldn't fly where I work.

Don't buy Clevo.
What's wrong with Clevo?

Spore but with lots more science, Thrive has a new release out

Quoting: slaapliedjeNice! I thought Spore was an awesome idea from reading about it... but when it was released, it ended up being basically just a RTS with bland units you supposedly had a choice in evolving. So much potential wasted. Will have to try this out!
From what I recall Spore was intended to be more scientifically focused, this is the original concept gameplay:

Going to have to try Thrive out too, Spore fell quite short of its potential.
Yeah, I messed with the demo when it came out, loved it. Then got the full game and it rapidly just turned into an RTS where you had goofy looking characters fighting each other. Such a awesome idea, that they wussied out on and made a generic game.
Spore was so thoroughly disappointing, until recently I thought Peter Molyneux had a leading role in its development...

Proton GE sees another new release pulling in lots of fixes

Hooh - that question alone is enough for me to steer clear of GE. I want the "out of the box" experience, add a startup parameterer at worst, I do not want to start fiddling with Wine stuff again. Oh no, no thanks.
To be fair, I never had to do anything like that. Even when GE doesn't work, you just switch to a different one in the Steam settings for the game and that's it.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPProton-GE has to be one of the most wildly unreliable pieces of software that I use regularly anyway.

If/How it works changes radically for me per game. Some games won't work with it at all that work just fine with normal Proton, some games work, but with abysmal performance compared to normal Proton.
Or the other way around.
Or anything in-between.

Its the first thing i do when i have Problems with Proton.
No, I don't bother.
So far, I have (almost) always found a version of Proton that works for me, be it normal Proton or -GE.
If I need to start digging deeper than the config in Steam, I'm more likely to just refund the game and play something else. Unless it's a title that I REAAALLLLY have to play.
