Haven't tested BlazeRush on Deck yet, but on PC the native Linux version has issues for me. We are playing this game here and there again and again for years, and it used to work fine, but since a few months some issues occured for me: Opening the Steam overlay freezes the game, and the analog stick is not detecting full acceleration when tilted (using Steam Controller). Switched to Proton and everything works again as it used to be. I guess a Steam Linux Runtime updated causes a regression. Sadge, but I guess tha game isn't maintained anymore to get this fixed.
This Steam Deck Durability Test had me watching in horror

LOL, same! It did hurt so much to see this... well... FOR SCIENCE!
And yes, when I carry mine around, I also put it into the case! Better safe than sorry.
Just ordered a dbrand screen protector too!
Nice to see the inner things of the ABXY buttons though.

Cool to see this number rising again... my first thought was: it doesn't matter that much anymore. The Steam Deck has changed the mind of publishers and developers already, as they are either supporting the Deck explicitly or at least are looking into it. And this helps us "few" Linux desktop gamers as well.
On the other hand though, we still would benefit from a bigger market share on the desktop, as there is more than only games to use on our PCs. We want official Linux support for more than just games. Drivers, devices, etc... hopefully when people realize they can also play most of their games (if not even all) on the Linux desktop, it helps more people deciding to use Linux on a more regular basis. Small steps, with the Steam Deck being a big one :D

Atm I'm using nvidia-patch [External Link] and obs-nvfbc [External Link]. Normally I don't have many issues with neither window capture nor full screen capture, but recently, when Cyberpunk didn't get captured and I switched to full screen capture, I saw a massive performance hit. Does not happen at all with nvfbc.
Advantage now is, I don't have to worry about creating a new source for a window capture as I can set the obs-nvfbc source to capture just one of my desktops. And the better performance when capturing.
Disadvantage though, I have to patch the nvidia driver with every release, and it's not officially supported.

Cyberpunk 2077 gets an official Steam Deck setting but seems broken (updated)

Yesterday I thought the patch to 1.52 has wrecked the great performance patch 1.5 has brought again. I wasn't able to get a smooth experience anymore while e.g. just turning the character's view around. No matter what I tried helped, lowering to High preset, with DLSS to quality... still choppy. And before it was possible for me to play on Ultra preset without any DLSS or FSR.
Best I could do was setting it to High and FSR to quality, unfortunately there was a visible quality loss.
But it was on my end, obs was apparently causing it, as after shutting it down the issue was gone.

It's their loss... not ours. There are enough other games to play, really.
Of course I'd like to see Destiny 2 supported on Deck (which would include Linux desktop support), but if they are really that anti-Deck and anti-Linux... pfff, who cares. They'll probably get quite some people demanding to be able to play the game on Deck, so maybe they'll reconsider at some point.
If you really wanna play Destiny 2 now iirc it's free to play (at least the base game) on Stadia, given you have an Internet connection capable of streaming it. And I guess that could work via Chrome on Deck as well.

It's a shame that in the end only the Valve Index is officially supported for Linux.
Though the HTC Vive and HTC Vive Pro work, it's only unofficial. And the Vive Pro 2 even doesn't work at all.
Nevertheless, VR has never been better for me since the recent updates. I didn't have any issues with Beat Saber, Synth Riders, Pistol Whip... even without async reprojection. Also the GTFO VR Mod worked pretty well, though this mod would have benefit from async reprojection. Pre nVidia 510 driver, I had Steam VR crashes like every 30 to 60 minutes, which are more or less gone with the driver update.
In Hinge VR I still experience crashes, but those are game crashes, not Steam VR crashes.
With this I recently re-discovered my love for Elite: Dangerous in VR. I can tune it up to high settings even, and the performance is great. You can see the magic of async reprojection here [External Link], where the game dropped to less than 20 FPS, but async reprojection still made it smooth enough to be playable in VR for me.
So I guess with the latest Steam VR update, it can (hopefully) only get better

No Man's Sky has come along very nicely. It had a rough start, but Hello Games did a really REALLY good job here. And they were also fixing already Proton issues here and there.
Nice to see they'll officially support the Deck (and Linux ofc).

A quick test shows: Cyberpunk still works, though it crashed for me as well until I used a clean prefix.
Star Wars: Squadrons works now as well online, but also here my first time joining resulted in a crash, and I also used a clean prefix.
Nice improvements!
