Remastered adventure game 'Noctropolis' is now available for Linux

From his patreon post [External Link]:

Nightdive did all the porting, and already had a screenshot of a Linux build, they just wanted some confirmation they were building something that was sane and binary compatible, and I'm totally a wizard at that, so I did a build for them to post.
So he "just" helped out building the binary to ship and didn't really spent time on porting, if that's a concern ;)

These interactions are pretty cool! A studio porting the game on their own and already doing it pretty right, just getting confirmation from the guru if it's all okay. Awesome!

Interstellar Marines, the once promising FPS is still slightly alive

Funny coincidence. I was discussing about early access titles with a friend, and the name of this game as a paragon didn't came up into my mind for a while. When I remembered Stellar Marines, I was looking in the news page if it's completely dead and I was surprised there are still update posts coming.

Nevertheless this game taught me not to buy early access titles anymore, if their state isn't already pretty complete.
I know early access is for devs a good chance to fund their efforts early, and for players who really want to take an active part in the development process.

Early access might be as risky as kickstarter, yet with the difference that you will have already something somewhat playable. Still there is a remaining risk that a game will never come out of early access and remain unfinished. And Stellar Marines is one of those types of games.

I hope they will finish the game, I was impressed by the idea, by the upcoming story, by the coop part. Though I don't have my hopes too high. Especially now as there is only one real dev left. We'll see... it's already in my library, so the money is spent. And it has Linux support.

EVERSPACE expansion 'Encounters' announced, sounds like it's going to be awesome

This Soundtrack :)

Iirc they said in the Linux thread on the steam discussion page, that they were able to have the ports in sync. So getting the expansion might by easy. If they don't encounter new technical difficulties.

The trailer looks again awesome! Space-flamethrower... nice. Also the new player ship looks quite nice.

Need to play more though, still haven't finished a complete run yet.

Get thinking, as Feral Interactive are teasing another new Linux port

There are also some other sequels to games Feral already ported... like:
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of War

  • Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Don't know if the radar points to one of these... but I wish they do ;)
If it'll be Tomb Raider, I'm happy with that too ^^

RUINER still may not come to Linux, encountering technical issues

They should conference with Rockfish Games, as they were able to solve the technical issues with Unreal Engine 4 and Everspace on Linux ;)
Maybe they have similar issues.

Blowing everyone up in EVERSPACE, my thoughts

Quoting: ShmerlSo far Linux really lacks games like Freelancer [External Link] (which had a pretty good balance of story and action).
Oh yeah, I loved Freelancer!
Great graphics in that time and I also liked the story a lot. It also has multiplayer which some people even play today.
Speaking of multiplayer, a coop mode for everspace would be pretty awesome too ;)

Indeed, this game is a milestone on Linux. There is no other game like it available right now.
I really hope the sales on our platform are significant, so they see it is worth it. Even though probably all Kickstarter keys won't count to the Linux share.
And I was right, Rockfishgames as a german indie developer kept their promise. Now it's "only" a matter of polishing it, make it run with AMD ootb and we'll get the tux icon on the steam store.
I'm so happy with this game, I really enjoy it... even so much I was able to reach the end of sector 6 with my 7th run already.

Best Everspace game... no, that order is wrong... best space game ever ;)

Other Side Entertaintment studio (developers of Underworld Ascendant) made a poll on their own site, but before making any promises. And after feedback, they included Linux in their crowdfunding goals. Recently, Oxide Games made one for Ashes of Singularity.
Yep, I was referring to Ashes of Singularity. Their thread [External Link] has now 61 pages :O. Was it enough?

I have a certain feeling, that they are making fun of us :S:
Nevertheless I've put my +1 in the thread, disregarding the steam forum rules ^^

Let's see how this turns out.
