Looks like Killing Floor 2 may be coming to Linux from Knockout Games

Hmm... now the Killing Floor 2 entry on Aaron's Website [External Link] has been replaced by Flywrench.
Looks like Tripwire didn't like that he had this entry on his website.
I hope this didn't cause any trouble.

edit: oh, also the tweet [External Link] got deleted.

Will it really have to be Ubuntu 16.10? Like library-wise? Or will 16.04 LTS be working, too?

I had an email tip
You're welcome ;)

I would pick up a copy for sure. There have been many sales for KF2 already, but I was able to resist. Will pick up a copy as soon as it releases for Linux. Aaron is doing great porting work, so the port, if it comes, will probably be technically flawless.

Until February 6th, you can get the popular indie puzzle-platformer 'FEZ' for PWYW at itch.io

You may think of Phil Fish as you like, but this game is a masterpiece. Thanks to Renaud Bédard and Ethan Lee we have a flawless Linux version, and this game is really fun to play. Really nice pixelart and good puzzles which you don't have to complete all to finish the game. In fact, you can play a second run, where you complete the remaining puzzles to get a different ending.
The variety of the puzzles is great, some are depending on time, for others you need a good ear (or have rumble on your gamepad) etc.
I enjoyed this game a lot.

For the poll next year, I would like to be able to check all porters as favorite Linux game porters ;)

CAYNE, the free point & click horror game set in the STASIS universe is now out and it's damn good

@Ehvis: It is playing in the same universe, but won't spoil Stasis at all.

I was lucky to beta test Cayne, and the issue with the text of PDAs and terminal screens being off is known and looks like it's a Unity Linux issue. The Brotherhood will release an update as soon as this is fixed.

From what I've read, Cayne was as stretch goal of the Stasis kickstarter campaign, a free prequel to Stasis. The friendly devs wrote to me:
I hope the Linux community forgives us for the late port of STASIS, that will happen soonish :)
I don't mind at all. They show quite some Linux love and are working on fixing issues, which is really great. Especially as you can play Stasis on Linux through the beta already.

Their new game "Beautiful Desolation" is on Kickstarter [External Link] right now, and they say about Linux:
What Platforms will you initially release on? Windows. We will endeavor to also publish on Mac and Linux, however this may not be a day one release.

Owlboy, is now available for Linux and it has completely won me over, it's also on sale

This game is so great, it's a must play for everyone who has fun with platformers. And it's indeed very well playable with controller.
I was also lucky to take part in the closed beta test (for mac though), but thanks to flibitijibibo's FNA the port works smooth as always. A high quality port of a high quality indie game.
If you didn't know yet, Owlboy was in development for almost ten years, by 5 devs spread over three countries. And the extra time did the game very well. It's polished like a triple A title, the gameplay is smooth and diversified. I've already had a lot if fun with Owlboy, and you will too. So get it already ;)

If you want to host your own github-like service, have a look at GoGS [External Link] on https://github.com/gogits/gogs/ [External Link] or its fork GiTea [External Link] on https://github.com/go-gitea/gitea [External Link]

It's pretty cool, and has already a lot of features github offers. Some are still missing, but it's under development and you can kindly request features. E.g. if you want to have snippets like gists etc.
And it's pretty easy to setup.

Alien: Isolation - The Collection is 70% off on the Feral Interactive store

This game is so good! If you haven't played it yet, go get it.
Let yourself get sucked into the great atmosphere of this game as Creative Assembly managed to bring the feeling Ripley must have had in the first Alien movie into a game. Probably the best Alien game available, for sure the best Alien game on Linux ;)
But learn to read the signs, the game gives you. Otherwise you might get the impression the game would be unfair (at least some gamers claim that), which it isn't at all. You always have a chance. Be brave, but not too perky.

Aww man, I envy everybody who hasn't played it yet and can make this experience fresh from the beginning ;)

I hope there will be a sequel.

edit: ah yes, and it is great to watch other players streaming this game. So if it happens you get a copy, add yourself to the streaming list here, so we can all watch you :D

Some thoughts on switching from Ubuntu to Antergos for Linux gaming

I could solve many pulseaudio issues on Ubuntu by setting these:
export PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60
in my .profile. Maybe also 30 works.
And in /etc/pulse/default.pa disabling the timer-based scheduling:
load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
Ironically I got these informations from the Arch wiki [External Link] ;)
