Let em deliver a solid engine for big n small studios with stellar cross-platform support n hardware scalability. Then "yet another 3D engine" will sound marvellous in my ears. I have already forgotten my dislike for the name Pop OS. I hate green colour I love Mint. Couldn't stand any Toy Story film it didn't prevent me from installing Debian. First time I heard about "Vulcan"... bleh, hideous trekkie-ism I thought. Results is all that matters.

"Flatpak update" gave me an incremental 121kb update of Protonup-Qt. Great. I'm getting to increasingly like those flatpaks.

Linux Mint working on a new upgrade tool for major releases

I've upgraded my mint boxes from one point release to another without hiccups but I went for fresh installs with every new major upgrade by choice. Backed up a few config files, caches and profiles from my home directory, restored em et voila. Still this new update manager makes perfectly sense with Mint philosophy. Users should be able to avoid reinstalling afresh their systems and upgrade seamlessly to new major releases.
