A year later Stadia has messaging, user profiles and possibly new countries coming

"Special bonus for RPGs" - makes a lot of sense.
Being a big RPG player myself lack of role-playing games on Stadia is one of the reasons I ignored it after finishing the two month test period.
Sure, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 should help, but still there are too few offline RPGs in their library.
Would be nice to seem more strategy games there too. Though, I understand that, sadly, it is currently a niche genre...

Beamdog just gave Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition a big graphical boost

I don't think I can ever thank Beamdog enough for keep those classic CRPGs alive and bringing them to Linux among other platforms.
It's a real pity Icewind Dale 2 source code is lost. Otherwise, I'd have a complete collection.

Xfce desktop environment sees a 4.16pre1 release, better fractional scaling

Great news!
I prefer MATE, when it comes to light-weight Linux distributions, but it doesn't mean I don't like XFCE. It's actually pretty good.
The only important problem I had with XFCE is its HiDPI support. I tried Manjaro XFCE on my main gaming PC, but it took a lot of effort to make it look half decent on my 4K screen. That's why I'm glad that they seem to be working on that issue.
Besides, to be honest, HiDPI support is still a problem for many Linux DEs, with the exception of GNOME. That's why I stick with Ubuntu for now.

The itch.io app can now use a system installed Wine on Linux for Windows-only games

This is definitely great news. I don't know, if it's on their roadmap, but the next logical step would be to let the user choose a WINE prefix for a game. Given the size of their team, though, I understand that it won't be a top priority.
To be honest, if a game is on Itch, I prefer to get it there because of their open source philosophy. Besides they let me give a developer a little extra, which is a really cool feature I use almost all the time.
All in all, I'm really glad they keep supporting and developing their client.
While I praise Valve for their efforts supporting Linux, it's better to have several platforms to be able to choose from.

Open world strategy with Tenderfoot Tactics releases for Linux PC in October

I checked out the demo of Tenderfoot Tactics during the last Steam Game Festival, and I rather liked it.
Don't be deceived by the visuals - this game has a pretty deep tactical system.
If you like games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark, this one is definitely worth spending time on.

Application Systems have multiple upcoming Linux games, try some demos now

Great news!
I tried Growbot and Mutropolis during the last Steam Summer Game Festival.
Growbot definitely looks likes a game made by Amanita Design (as Nezchan already mentioned). The demo was so short, though, it was hard to evaluate the game.
Mutropolis is a classic point-and-click adventure game. The visual style reminded me of Broken Age from Double Fine.

Prepare your hard drive as another Steam Game Festival is coming in October

Great news! I really enjoyed the last one.

The Steam Game Festival Summer Edition is over, here's our round-up

I really enjoyed the Steam Game Festival. I think I've tried about 20 different demos.
The highlights for me personally were Carrion, Starmancer and Tallowmere 2, but there were plenty of others I liked.
Hadean Tactics is a very interesting game that is clearly inspired by Slay the Spire, but with quite a few differences.
Another great tactical game is Tenderfoot Tactics. It's still rough and the graphics remind me of the early 90's, but it definitely has a lot of potential.
The Zone: Stalker Stories is an interesting game too, given that it's a cross-breed between the visual novel, RPG and deck building game.
And finally, as a person who enjoyed playing point and click adventure games since I was a child, I'm really happy that there were many demos of such games: Backbone, Mutropolis, Slender Threads, Port Valley...

There's an app for that: use GOverlay to help configure MangoHud on Linux

I've been using both MangoHud and GOverlay since they were first released, and they've become indispensable tools for both tweaking the game settings and recording gameplay videos.
I'm impressed by the amount of progress both developers have achieved in just a few months.
