it's become a free to play game that heavily reduces what people can actually do until they pay something

Excellent.

Now bring back the old server browser and the game might be worth playing again.

The MMO 'Albion Online' has officially gone free to play and it supports Linux

This makes me glad I didn't pick it up back then (I was thinking about it). Free to play has ruined too many games that I used to care about and I have yet to see one that doesn't go down the drain once it goes free to play.

On Steam they only mention Windows. Does the Steam version run on Linux yet?
