Quoting: Whitewolfe80So fedora 36 delivered on their gaming claims then interesting may have to look at switching soon. I know ge has his own gaming version anyone know of it's stable nebara ?Only just heard of it recently. Fedora is such a solid pick, so I would probably just take whatever nifty things GE is doing with Nebara and add it to Fedora. :)

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLTry this launch option: -vulkan_disable_graphics_pipeline_libraryQuoting: officerniceCave Johnson is unlocked at level 75 or so of the battle pass which is not that bad.Same here. I have Radeon RX580 8GB and Vulkan API in Dota 2 works for me very bad. Poor performance, langs, graphics corrutions. Horrible lags when casting spells or broken spells textures. That only few issues.
Not feeling so good about the removal of OpenGL, mainly because Vulkan has been borked for me and some other users for some time now, as the game does not even boot up (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota2-Gameplay/issues/3863) so running "-gl" is the only option to play.. :/ Weirdly enough, as one user mentioned, we are recommended using an older Nvidia driver.
Solution was switching to OpenGL. No issues and better performance.
Also, every time Dota gets a big update or a new Mesa comes out, I check the Vulkan API in Dota and still unfortunately no improvement.
I checked a lot of tips, with different launch options etc. nothing helped. I did bug reports on Valve Github and either no response or no solution.
For me, OpenGL is the only alternative to play Dote on my hardware.

Does anybody know of an alternative to something like Big Screen Mode? I have not tried it since I use XFCE, but I am putting up a raspberry pi soon. I would like some kind of program akin to what Big Screen Mode does, but I just want to be able add the applications I WANT, not what KDE detects.
AMD driver update gets Red Dead Redemption 2 working better on Steam Deck / Linux

I completed it earlier this year with... perhaps 1-2 crashes every 10 hours. Didn't seem like there was any launch options to fix the issue. 80 hours I'll never get back of my life.

Glad I got through it. A nice looker but a disappointment compared to RDR1. Not worth the 80 hours for me.
Splitgate development is over, as the devs move onto their next game

Quoting: 14I like Splitgate. The reason I seldom play isn't because it's not good, it's because I am simply not into competitive shooters so much these days. Insurgency: Sandstorm and Deep Rock Galactic get my play time WAY more often because shooting AI is more fun to me (probably because more predictable, aka less stressful). I have gotten MVP many times in Splitgate, so it's not that I suck. It's more taxing and stressful.Yeah, I also found it more stressful. The maps weren't always the best, either. There's a lot of potential there to build upon and make it flow way better. The Linux port weren't the best, though. Sometimes the colours would just be replaced with this weird rainbow flicker, and the menu often felt unresponsive to the mouse.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPThe thing I'm mostly worried about is the state the game will release in.Ck3 was unplayable on Linux at release for about two weeks at the least, because I refunded the game after that. Now, however, it runs just fine.
Paradox has a certain way of releasing games* in a state that will generally make you want to wait about half a year before playing...
*Games they develop themselves, that is. Not necessarily true for games where they "just" serve as publisher.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderI always love the look of the Hearts of Iron games.... But I dont have a spare 87 years to learn how to play these games.....I've just watched Quill18 on YouTube and learned how to play Paradox games from him. It doesn't take that long, and it's been worth it for me. It's so chill to just sit back with a strategy game, put on a record or two and let it roll. :)

Yet Dota 2 still does not show up in my library when it is not installed even though I poured 290 hours into it.
