My big one- I want discord screenshare to support audio on Linux without needing to hack it. My family has a dependency on discord sharing that developed over the pandemic and its lack of support in Linux is a deal-breaker; I have to maintain windows installations for it.

I made a similar transition from Gentoo; a hard drive died and I decided rather than the laborious install I would install Ubuntu and call it a day.

I'm still playing Doom 2016 multiplayer, Slay the Spire, and am seriously considering getting a new development laptop and thinking about getting Hadean Tactics to go with it.

So maybe this is a good place to enquire; I'm a Linux enthusiast living in the United States and I have an ancient gaming laptop that I just as a software lab machine for development that I'm thinking of upgrading. I'm looking for a 17 inch laptop with a dedicated AMD gpu to take advantage of those open source drivers; I'm shocked by the lack of options. I see an MSI that fits my profile but the reviews say the fans are loud(I have a pet that may be a problem for). There aren't that many laptops out there with dedicated AMD gpus.

Quake Wars is one of my favorite games of all time! I have a copy I install on every Linux partition I inhabit.
