Among The Sleep Developers Are Now Working On A Linux Fix

Now I'd just like to play the game I pledged for. I'm willing to forgive, but not forget; I'll be viewing Krillbyte with more scrutiny in the future.

Valve Has Flipped That Switch & Greenlit More Linux Games This July

Quoting: scaineGreat to see Time spinner greenlit too, after our coverage in the last Funding Crowd article. I pledged to that game. Just a shame we have to wait for it now... :-)
Haven't seen this before. Reminds me of Castlevania: SOTN :)

Worms Clan Wars Looks Like It's Heading To Linux

Quoting: DaverballI hope they're making an effort to make a proper port this time where they can merge the code back in and make the multiplayer and the dlc cross-platform compatible.
Ditto. If it's not multi-platform multiplayer I can't say I'm interested.

Among The Sleep Still Unplayable For A Lot Of Linux Users
10 Jul 2014 at 6:55 pm UTC

While I don't agree with the original title choice either, I do feel very let down and understand why Liam would use it. I backed these guys, pledged enough for two copies. To be over a month down the road with no assurances of being able to play is very disheartening. Now it's been a month since their last patch and there's been a blackout as far as updates go.

It's very maddening, and it's hard to understand why a developer that had seemed very legit seems to be snuffing you.

I'm more concerned with Among the Sleep fixing their issues. I can't seem to get a response out of them.

Payday 2 Could See A Linux Release In Future, A Developer Noted
4 Jul 2014 at 1:15 pm UTC

Is Payday 2 still relevant? The other day I stated to an XCOM player that there wasn't as much activity as I expected for such a game. He then reminded me that the game was a couple years old. While it's not such an issue with XCOM, since the multiplayer is 1v1 and the single player is rich and lengthy, games like Payday 2 are strictly multiplayer. When the servers die the game dies.

Either way, good to see popular titles coming to Linux. Granted, I'm more keen to a solo affair ;)

Edit: Well shut my mouth; the game's more recent than I thought. Also, 40k players presently, so forget what I said :D ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN *Choo Choo*

Mountain Is A Game That Isn't Quite A Game
3 Jul 2014 at 3:31 pm UTC

As much as "that's not a game" often fills me with vitriol (often used as a lazy way to discredit a game one doesn't like), here I think that's actually a legitimate observation. For me, the fundamental difference between games and film is interaction and a sense of agency. If you control nothing than I'd say this is more of a simulation instead of a simulation game.

Killing Floor 2 Shows Off The Infected In A New Trailer

A few of the enemies in this seem a bit samey, but I remember having enough fun with the original. I'll keep an eye on it.

A Look At June's Indie Box With Escape Goat 2

My USB came blank as well; what a wacky oversight. I'm constructing the papercraft statue as we speak :)

Also, so excited to hear Cellar Doors is working with Indie Box to release a boxed edition of Rogue Legacy :D Mind, they said their subscription slot is booked, so it'll be sold in their store online, rather than being part of the service. However, I'll buy it all the same :)
