Psyonix are ending support for Rocket League on both Linux and macOS (updated)

What a bad move. I will try to refund it.

Selling a product to a customer and then take away features of the product is kind of theft IMHO.

I think they prepare to move RL to the EPIC Store. I can imagine, that in the future there will be an "offer" like "Here you get an EPIC Games key. It will give you cool features if you move over to EPIC. BTW. Multiplayer will be disabled on Steam in the next release"

What a bad company.

Steam getting expanded support for Soundtracks with a Sale Event on January 20

Quoting: PhiladelphusNice, I like it! It's always felt silly that I can't buy the soundtrack from a non-Linux game separate from the game itself.
I think it is also silly to buy a game, that includes the music (as it is played in the game) and then pay for the music as a DLC, to get "the game music". You already payed for it...

My top 5 Linux games released in 2019, those that truly won me over

My top game is:

X4: Foundations [External Link]

It works very well now, I have a lot of fun with it and the devs are really Linux friendly!

And CS:GO - a game I always like to play sometimes.

Looks like EA might be banning Linux gamers using Wine to play Battlefield V

It is no wonder to me.
Using a Anti Cheat solution via a translationlayer, which can not be controlled by this Anti Cheat solution must lead to a ban.
That is the way this kind of software works.

One should never play Multiplayer games via Proton/Wine/DXVK, when it is not officially supported.

I use and like Proton - but only for singleplayer games.

GOG have new games up on GOG Connect, big sale still going

I bought X4: Foundations [External Link] in the winter sale and it is in a very good shape now.

As GOG does not really support Linux and it is cheaper on Steam....

The game is amazing and I play the open Beta of Version 3 - it does not feel like a beta. It works well, sometimes the german translations are missing in the tutorials (there are tutorials now!) but that doesn't matter for me.

If you search for a great space game with full Linux support, take a look at it!

Quoting: ghiumaAfter the Proton update Elex doesn't work, maybe they did something wrong?
I noticed there were a couple games I was playing where I had to set them up with previous versions of proton, so it's not just you.
You should both file bugs at: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues [External Link]

If they are that small I would highly recommend GCompris, which you will find for free in most if not all Linux distributions already. My kids loved it (especially they loved TuxPaint) when they where really small.
If they are small, I recommend to play with them in real life. Kids with about 6 years really do not need to play video games. My daughter is 7 and very happy without video games and so was my son.

Borderlands 3, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint out this week on Google Stadia

Quoting: tmtvldoes that mean that there is a Linux version of Xenoverse 2? They should put that on Steam.
I suppose there's nothing preventing Google or the game's devs from using Wine/Proton + DXVK to run Windows games on Stadia. Xenoverse 2 is rated Gold/Platinum on ProtonDB.

Quoting: Avehicle7887it doesn't mean devs are willing to release it for a normal Linux desktop (support costs, the usual distro difference excuse etc).
Let's hope the Steam Linux Runtime will get rid of that issue...
Yeah, but there is also a risk with this. When game devs just rely on Steam Linux Runtime and Steam decides to not support Linux anymore...
Than this could kill all Linux gaming.

Epic Games have awarded the FOSS game manager Lutris with an Epic MegaGrant

So finally a little nice move from EPIC.
It does not really heal the harm they caused to Linux gaming (pulling games with Linux support exclusively to their non-Linux-store), but it is a nice move anyways.

So lets be friendly and thank them, it is a move in the right direction and every way to go starts with the first (small?) step.

Perhaps Mr. Sweeney can be more linuxfriendly in the future. I can remember, that EPIC once was a linuxfriendly company.

Quoting: einherjarAbsolutely NOT. I really don't care a single bit.
I play games to have fun. All these Badges and so on are absolutely uninteresting to me. I can't see, what is the advantage for me? Gaming is not more fun (for me), with these things.
This sounds like you do care, in a nagative way.
You can't just ignore them?
Honestly, I do not get your point.
I ignore them, but I do not ignore what Liam wrote. Two different things...
