The EU is going after Valve and others for "geo-blocking", a statement from Valve

Quoting: Purple Library GuyNow you are spreading the myth that EU is undemocratic which is blatantly false.

Sure? And why could lobbyist e.g. take part of the negotiation of TTIP, but it was a secret for us - the citizens? And whom do I vote, if I do not have the chance to know, what he is doing in my name?

Is this really democracy? IMHO it is more some lobbycracy. Lobbyist have more power in Brüssel then the EU citizens have. That is, for example, a lack of democracy.
And the more these organization are away from control of their citizens, the more democracy looses.

And in my feelings, they also try to hide the facts, which things the parliament people did or do. E.G. if you look at things, that Tendering rules do not apply to Microsoft.

There are a lot of things, where the EU breaks their rules. If you define rules in a kind of democratic process, but you break them again and again - IMHO that is not really democracy.

But perhaps we get to off topic here.

Quoting: GuestThe EU is not a single country, it's just a weak union. The EU countries doesn't have a shared tax collection and they wouldn't share it anyway because it would hurt richer countries very badly.
IMHO the EU is a bunch of egoists, that claim to be a union. But in nearly all serious matters they do not manage to get something sensefull working.
So they try to show, that they care for us with such important things like game prices between different countries.

Aspyr Media confirm the free "Ultra HD" DLC for Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel is coming to Linux

Hmm, was someone able to play Borderlands 2 with the UHD texture pack via proton?

I renamed the exe files so that ist starts. But if I try to install the texture pack, Steam does not start a download. It opens Borderlands 2, but there I can not find the texture pack :dizzy:

Quoting: HopfenmeisterPetition: While the "PC-Version" of Borderlands 3 is an EPIC-exclusive, release only the Linux-Version on Steam.
They will give a shit

Quoting: BielFPsNice news. Unfortunately since Borderlands 3 will be Epic Store exclusive,
I think I read somewhere it was only going to be exclusive for 6 months, so maybe not too bad..
Six months of timed EGS exclusive is indeed good. It gives Gearbox enough time for to fix the bugs of Borderlands 3 before the final release on Steam...
Consider the Epic store version of Borderlands 3 as an "Early Access BETA version" of the final game.

No it is not.

When my friends start playing at day one I can't join. When they played it through they will not start again because of me, not using windows.
And again it shows them Linux isn't worth a try, because of lacking game support.
The same is real for my son and his friends.
Thanks Mr. Sweeny!

Quoting: PieOrCakeMy two sons and I play Borderlands 2 together almost every day; two on Kubuntu and one on Windows 7. Yesterday's update breaking cross platform multiplayer was all the prompt we needed to finally replace Win7 with Linux. It's good that the update will eventually be coming to Linux, but we want to keep playing NOW.
A person switching to Linux is always positive !

But if the one on Win7 wants to play Fortnite or Apex with his friends, perhaps running Borderlands 2 via Proton is also an alternative ?

Quoting: einherjarIt does not start Just Cause 3. But it runs fine with lutris (my son plays it with lutris).

Perhaps it will work with the next update. I'll be waiting, as I don't want to deal with lutris actually.
Really each to their own but its really simple to use i find i get it if you arent happy with linking your steam library but i prefer lutris over proton because i have more control over the configuration.
To things let me prefer proton over lutris:

1. Using Proton tells the dev/publischer the money comes from a Linux-User
2. When I want to play, I just want to play --> Klick play and that's it :-)

I will consider buying this, if it gets a native build or it runs with proton (hopefully officially supported).

Epic Games new 'Epic Online Services' will support Linux and it's free for developers to use

So I think now we know wich other "open plattform" Sweeney meant.
It is stadia - no way it is Linux...
