For people interested in playing board games at social distance,
Gloomhaven [External Link]
may be interesting. It is a nice adaption of the board game containing tactical turn based combat and RPG elements.
I started playing it with friends a few days ago and it is very well made and runs great with proton. As we have to live with distancing again because of Corona, this one brings us fun to play together online.
You can tell the devs if you are interested in Linux support here:

As they mentioned to be open to support linux.
But I can actually say, I played with friends who are on windows and did not have an issue.

Fragmentation is well known in the Linux community. So we can easily deal with that and call it choice.
Nvidia could have done better, but no one is forced to use their solution.

Quoting: Liam DaweMany Corporations force the use of MS Tech on business PCs and Notebooks. Not everyone has a choice...Quoting: BeamboomOh ffs. Do even windows users use that one? What does the browser stats say? It's actually more popular than Firefox overall, going by multiple stats websites.
GOG removes HITMAN after customer backlash over online features

Isn't that weird?
Why wouldn't it be enough to make clear, that you need an online connection for the features X,Y,Z.
The customer can decide if it is ok or not.
Things like online rankings without internet connection is not possible, but even not a bad thing.

In my Steam name is mentioned, that I use Linux.
Since the Deck is announced, there are more people asking about that and are interested in a positive way.
So there are people interested and that alone is a good thing.
So perhaps we gain more desktop users and in addition with the deck users we might smash MacOS and get Number 2 after Windows - that would be nice...

Nice, actually I am hoping to get a new GFX card, so that I can also think about buying an Index.
Perhaps, this new thing is cooler and who knows, when a GFX card will be available at a reasonable price...

No one should be forced to support Linux IMHO.

Quoting: KimyrielleNot sure why they thought it would be a good idea to make developers perform a "few clicks" to enable other platform support. Developers quite frankly shouldn't have a say about what platforms people run their software on. Just enable it for all EAC games, with no way to turn it off. :SHm, freedom of choice - but not for game devs?

And an OSS client side anti cheat, that can be changed by anybody at will, can be nothing but useless. You could IMHO just changed it into a mock that always sends the right data to the AC server. Even not easy, because what you do actually in the game has to taken constantly into account, but surely easier than bypassing signed closed software anti cheat.
100% safety will of course never appear...
Quoting: toor...Why not? That would just be security by obscurity....Signing a piece of software to prevent it from being changed has nothing to do with "security by obscurity". You can argue, that closed source software alone is security by obscurity but in combination with signing it is clearly not.
