Survival game Vintage Story gets another huge upgrade with improved combat

Reported the issue to the forum and Developer. The reaction was: SHUT UP! This is how it is meant to be.
But what I found out later is that you can turn it off on a server. So why not in single player? Anyhow the game is ruined for me.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPIt took hours in real time! No server involved! Single Player.Quoting: ChronariusIt does not only happen every few days IT ALSO HAPPENS FOR DAYS. For that time I should sit in my hut/shack/dirt hole? That sounds more like a bug than anything else. In my 60+ (?) hours of playing the game, the longest one I had was of the strongest category and took about half a day at max. I'd say they usually last only a few hours (in-game).
From the wiki [External Link] itself:
The duration of temporal storms will increase in time, by default it can last between 2.4h and 4.8h maximum. The differentiation between light, medium or heavy temporal storms does not influence the duration, but rather the feeling of the storm, meaning specifically the visual and audio aspects of this mechanic. If a multi-day one happened to you, you were either playing on a server with messed up settings or as I said, a bug.
Both of which would suck, of course.

Quoting: ChronariusSounds like a lot of mimimimimimimimi to me too.If installing mods sounds like whining to you, I feel bad for you as some of the best experiences in gaming are unlocked only with mods fine-tuning the experience to your liking.[/quote]Well, YOU are calling someone mimimimimi for ranting about a game feature and need on the other hands mods to modify the "experience" to their liking! Sounds a bit strange to me :D

Quoting: DrakkerLOL! 8-10 Minutes would be fine! Mine lasted for hours and didn't get way and I was moving far distances. As far I could get wihout being killed!Quoting: ChronariusThe storms last for a fixed time, which is 8 or 10 minutes I think.Quoting: TheSHEEEPThe second thing you describe is a temporal storm. Those happen every few days.It does not only happen every few days IT ALSO HAPPENS FOR DAYS. For that time I should sit in my hut/shack/dirt hole?
Twiggling Thumbs and do nothing? Vintage Story is a good game, except this "temporal storm" bullshit! This has no use in the game then just to annoy you. Bring on some "real" stuff and not such "oh I need some shit to annoy the shit out of people" stuff.
Quoting: DrakkerYou were probably spending time in a low stability area, and that is badly explained in the game. The storms are there for story purpose (albeit not in the game yet) and as a player, its the perfect time to farm for temporal gears (for those awesome translocators (teleporters)) and rusty gears (the currency in game). Build an area that gives you an advantage against the endless wave of drifters, go there when the storms are about to start and reap the rewards.I don't care about that story if it isn't fully implemented. These storms are just annoying and don't add anything for me to the game. In the contrary these storms killed the game for me.
AMD Ryzen DeskMini UM700 announced with Manjaro Linux

Fun Fact: My Steammachine from Zotac was 100 bucks cheaper then the identical build without Steam-Case but with Windows on it.
BTW: I have an HM80 from Miniforums which is shutting down the rear USB-Ports after a while.
Not sure if that is fixed! Doesn't happen with Windows.

Quoting: Liam DaweNevertheless this will fail! IMHO they should sell there hardware also without OS but add a label "Linux supported"Quoting: pbSo what's so special about this box that it costs $60-70 more than the one with preinstalled Windows? I appreciate that they're trying, but I fail to see the point. The difference is that I assume Manjaro get a cut, which is probably part of the inflated pricing.

Well, doesn't surprise me. Humble Bundle has become just a name. Nothing Humble there anymore. I'm not buying a lot there anymore. For what they are taking a 30% cut per Bundle? It was great before it has been sold, but now ... R.I.P.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPInstall mods for this and for thatSounds like a lot of mimimimimimimimi to me too.
Quoting: TheSHEEEPWait, did you expect a survival game that strives for realismNothing against realism, other games have a lot more then vintage story. But some mechanics are just there to slow you down (crafting) or broken(temporal storm), and have nothing to do with realism.

Couldn't care less! Just checked the Bundles. Only 5% for Charity left, and Humble Bundle takes a cut of 30-40%. Uhm..Not gonna happen! Not supporting incompetence and lousy support! The Offers in the store are not much better then e.g. on Steam if the games are on Sale. Don't get me started on Choice! The main reason why I bought games/bundles from HB is gone! R.I.P.

The "real" problem, which is holding Linux back on Desktops, is that new computers are bundled with Windows in the Stores!

Quoting: AkonadyNo that is not holding Linux back. I know a large company which runs +50k Linux Desktops , and a few others with +10k Linux Desktops. Not to mention that most of them are running with Ubuntu or a flavour of it!Quoting: KimyrielleThe point of Linux to me is that it's not controlled by a single corporation who can dictate me what to do with my system, and if I wanted an Appstore-like monopoly in my ecosystem, I might as well buy a Mac.I think you like fragmentation (that holds Linux back) and no optimization whatsoever.

BTW: Is this "Time Stability" crap still in the game? What is it? What is this Rust World and why does it affect my world? What does this creatures called Drifters want? In the Wiki to the game you find almost no information about it. IMHO a feature which hasn't been properly thought through and poorly explained is just annoying. Without it the game would be much more fun.

Quoting: scaineIt's the curse of the voxel engine game, I suppose, to always be compared to Minecraft. This plays nothing like Minecraft, from what I can tell. The depth in this game far surpasses anything Minecraft offers, even in modded servers. However, the core engine looks enough like Minecraft that people just blink and move on. It's a real shame.Erm.. you know that this game has his roots in Minecraft, right? It was released as a Minecraft-Mod before it became a standalone game. Also you can find a lot of the mechanics still in Minecraft Mods.

Humble Choice for October is up with all 12 games for Premium and Classic subs

Quoting: brokeassbenI keep forgetting to suspend my subscription and have accrued a lot of rather meh games the past few months. Going to remember to skip this month! Already have Sunless Seas and lots of the Tropico games, so I'm good.Well, I don't! I had one month left! I paused it for the last few months and now Humble Bundle is playing the "no you don't card". I had all my perks (20% off, access to the trove) in every last month before I paused it. But the month ist gone now. The Humble Ninjas give a shit about it and instead of investigating the situation and have a look in their systems, they just throw you the "no you don't". So I canceled the subscription once and for all!
