Quoting: noxPerformance on my Vega 56 is great too. Just have to remember to save often. Had one full system freeze at one point (that sucked).
Yeah, same here. Had to use magic keys to reboot the system

I didn't check the date of the article. My bad :S:

BATTLETECH has a new story trailer to show off

Quoting: GuestIt's really odd to me actually that Kickstarter funded this....and so they should have the money, right? I mean to develop and release on all their goals. So they could just finish the goals, and _then_ release....right? I don't get the reason to otherwise "have" to delay anything to post-launch.

Sadly, that I expected all this from the start is the one reason I'm still not overly excited about this game. And certainly won't be buying until there's a sale - if there's even a GNU/Linux version ever released. My only experience with hairbrained is all this too, and I have to say that so far I'm unimpressed.

On a Battletech related note however, I have just discovered the joys of 3d printing my own 'mechs. And the frustration at how easily a 3d printer can fail when you don't have that particular spare part to fix it. At least the 'mech designs coming from Paradox are getting some really good use!
Iirc they released all 3 Shadowrun games the same way. Linux happened a couple of months after the Window/Mac release.

Ash of Gods is a gorgeous but deeply flawed adventure

I've enjoyed the game so far. The outcome to the dialogue choices seems to be obscure on purpose and really seems to mimic real life, as Nanobang said above. The combat seems more or less the same as the Banner Saga online demo(As far as i can remember. It's been a while since i played it), with the addition of the card mechanic. Hopefully they manage to fix the issues with the dialogue.

Adventure RPG 'EARTHLOCK' will gain a Linux beta build tomorrow
10 Mar 2018 at 10:39 am UTC

Well, i can't download it. It seems like Steam isn't really switching to the beta branch, as restarting Steam puts me back in the stable branch, so it could be a Steam issue actually.

SteamVR beta updated to fix a radv crash and 'fixes' Vive Pro on Linux
8 Mar 2018 at 8:40 pm UTC

They still haven't announced a price for it? I expect it will launch around 800-900€ like the original Vive. If it's more i don't see how they could compete with the cheaper Rift and PSVR despite the extra features.

Stellaris 2.0 'Cherryh' patch & Stellaris: Apocalypse expansion released, over 1.5 million copies sold

Well, i actually had to manually disable msaa in the config file to get it to launch. I was experiencing a similar issue to the XWayland bug that has been reported on the mesa bugzilla, only i am running Plasma on X.

Verdun is yet another Unity title with broken fullscreen on Linux, here's a quick fix

Unity should really get 1 Q&A employee to do at least some rudimentary testing on Linux. Some of the bugs that slip through really make me wonder if they test at all. It seems to me that they use the devs as beta testers.

Steam Direct, the self-publishing system on Steam will cost developers $100, Curators getting an update too

Quoting: Nyamiou100$ for you is not much, but for some people, especially in poor countries, is a lot.
If $100 is too much for someone, then I think they should take care of that problem first before trying to get their game onto steam. I personally think $500-$1000 would be a much better as it's more of an investment; one that asset flippers and fake developers are less likely to take.
There are some genre like visual novels, point&click and humoristic games that have low investment and wouldn't take the risk of publishing on Steam if it means an additional $1000 investment.

Quoting: GuestWhat we want is good games, not games made only by rich people.
Well said.
Just wait and see Steam get flooded with crappy games, unless they have some other deterrents planned. They're basically throwing open the floodgates.

Haemimont Games & Paradox announce 'Surviving Mars', a management strategy game
14 May 2017 at 7:34 am UTC

This should be fun if utterly unrealistic. Seems like it will be Tropico on Mars
Quoting: Kimyrielle
Quoting: GuestHaemimont Games are the developers of the Tropico series and Victor Vran.
I’m afraid I won’t enjoy it much if it is similar to Paradox games or Tropico 5.
I skipped on Victor Vran because I am not too eager to play games that force me to play a male character, at least not unless premade female characters become just as normal.
Oh common, this isn't the 90s, female characters are quite common in games these days. Maybe it's not a 50/50 split but there are certainly a lot of games out there.
