I love a bit of nostalgia like this. I had a 6502 assembler cartridge for my Commodore 64 but found it clunky to use so I wrote my own assembler and BASIC toolkit. I couldn't do that now! How I loved that machine. Ahh the ravages of time :dizzy:

Intel teases with 11th gen desktop Rocket Lake-S CPU info, max of 8 cores

I'm hoping I may upgrade my system around Xmas or thereabouts, after the dust has settled on AMD's stuff. My next CPU will 100% be AMD. My current i7 is the only Intel chip I've used since way back. I basically went from a full RISCOS setup (I'm not sure what the CPU was in the add-on "PC" card either) to an AMD CPU. I never bought cutting edge, I went for value for money. My next GPU I'm still undecided on.

Interesting times!

You can now order a PC case that looks like the classic Commodore 64

"They're planning to promote bee conservation, with a portion of the sales being donated towards charities involved in national and international beekeeping" - I'm definitely getting this

Ventoy is my new favourite tool for Linux distro-hopping

I've been doing this for years with a GRUB menu but anything that makes this more convenient is always welcome

Not that I distro hop as I've been using the same Arch install since 2009! It's come in handy for new installs elsewhere though.

My experiences of Valve's VR on Linux

Great article and quite entertaining  I'd love to go VR but need to upgrade CPU and GPU before that can even be considered. One consolation of late(r) adoption is it should all work better by then.

One question please: do you need Pulseaudio for this? I'm running Jack but do occasionally fall back to just ALSA for some games.
