Microsoft confirm their new Chromium-powered Edge browser is coming to Linux

Options are good.
That's why I'm a bit worried that the alternative render engines are slowly dying out and everything is becoming re-skinned Chromium. It already feels like there's an increasing number of web sites that don't really work well in Firefox any more because developers go into production as soon as it works on Chrome. We might be headed back to the times when "Works best in Netscape Navigator" (or whatever) logos were everywhere.

Anybody else being a bit dismayed that playing remotely on Linux is as difficult as it is right now?

Of course I am aware of Steam Play, but I want to be able to log in to my main workstation from my couch and play while my SO is using that machine.

FOSS painting program Krita now has the Linux version on Steam

Quoting: NanobangI'm going to wishlist the Steam version and purchase it further on down the line as a way to support the app financially.
Why not send them money via their official Donation page? That way you can support Krita without Valve taking a cut. I figure being present on Steam is mostly meant for people who have never heard of Krita before (or are stuck on an inferior operating system).

Supergiant Games now have Bastion, Transistor and Pyre up on itch.io

Quoting: michaLove itch.io! I miss cloud saves sine I'm constantly switching machines though. Well, nothing is perfect. =)
...
Yeah, I'd love a solution where I just point the itch.io client to a folder which we be in my Dropbox/Gdrive/..
Games would only need to specify their local save directory/file and the itch.io client could `rsync` that with the specified folder. (Well at least in unix based systems that should work :D).
The simplest way would be if they all just saved to $HOME/.local/share/games/%GAMENAME%

Open source Morrowind game engine OpenMW has a new release up

One question: if I have never played Morrowind before and want to try it out with OpenMW, which are the recommended Mods that most people would consider essential because they improve the experience?

Google announce ‘Stadia’, their new cloud gaming service built on Linux and Vulkan
20 Mar 2019 at 8:08 am UTC

If some AAA games start to be developed for these Stadia servers, i strongly doubt they'll be available for Linux desktop on others stores. I don't think Ubisoft or Square care about the tiny Linux market share, but i'm sure they care about the potential massive audience they could reach with Google
Imagine you are a game publisher with a game developed for Stadia, but you don't care about releasing for Linux because you are scared of having to support different distributions and hardware configurations? I have a business proposal for you...

Seems like there's no hope for BattlEye support within Steam Play

Sometimes, all it takes is somebody showing that it can be done. Ask them again when EAC works.

Adventure Land, an MMO where you do a little coding is available on Linux with plans to go open source

Quoting: HexDSLEither make your thing open source or don't. What I don't like is when they use arbitrary targets for false hype/make sales. seems like its outside of the spirit of the idea.
Eh, why not? I think it should be standard procedure to open source code once the development costs have been recouped. Whether you want to throw money their way just for announcing it is your own decision.
