Quoting: TobiSGDAs TheBoss said, don't pay too much attention to the benchmarks, the game runs just fine with medium settings + 4xMSAA on my Phenom II X6 1055T and GTX760, even when playing a video on a second monitor while playing, though the benchmark results are pretty low (going down to 25FPS minimum).
Nice one.
Thanks Codemasters!!
Thanks Feral!!

Now, if we also can get Dirt Rally ...
i second the dirt rally part :D MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Quoting: StoneyFishWhat is a good gaming keyboard and mouse option to buy for linux?
Roccat stuff, it might be expensive but you are getting the tools for everything.

personaly i use Roccat Kone XTD laser and Roccat Ryos MK Glow keyboard - amazing stuff

The Dark Mod became more graphically impressive in their last update

are they planning SDL2 support?.. its nasty to play windowed to be able to alt+tab.
playing fullscreen switches off other monitor and cant get out of the game.

Storm United FPS major patch released, better Linux performance

Quoting: mr-egg
Quoting: ElectricPrismThe developers optimized particle effects on the latest Linux update.

Storm United is a somewhat CPU intensive game (As are all Unreal Engine 4 games including Ark.)

Eg: My i7-940 is the source of my frame-rate issues drop when paired with my GTX 970. (I turn down post-processing to get a better frame-rate in Ark on my girl's GTX 970 and Skylake it boosted FPS from 30 to 55ish)
my AMD CPU is slower than yours by half and im getting 20 - 40fps on a single gtx760 @ 1440p with almost everything on the highest and a few judicial setting drops. It was 5 - 10fps ! but the threaded optimisations really work well with ARK. I try them out.

its a shame no steam machine will get these additions to current & older Unreal engine games :|
pretty good... i get 40-60FPS most of the time.. but drops to 30 area when flying around fast or entering some big base with lots of dinos.. i dont have all max though.. 1080p mostly epic, view distance high, textures high, AA Off/low (it makes everything blurry when enabled), general shadows (thats the real performance killer for me) low.

AMD FX8320@4,2, GTX 970 GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS enabled

as for Storm United.. all maxed and also GL THREADED enabled havent seen it dropping below 70 fps yet...

A big Steam sale is now on, get some cheap games for Linux & SteamOS

I havent bought anything, got too many games to play.

but i was looking into: Road Redemption and Windward... dunno if i would play those more than 20 min though, like with most of the games except ARK :D

Storm United FPS major patch released, better Linux performance

i dont see the difference... but maps seem to load fine now, the ones that crashed before.

i didnt have stuttering previously also with __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 %command% -opengl4

only at the start of the map..and this is still there..but its smooth after this.

FPS seems same.. 90-120FPS all maxed 1080p on that snow map

this is that 12%? :D its not even that much for this card at least.. maybe on higher ends it is.

ohh well... and no xorg 1.18 support either i think?

Leak: AMD's new driver will apparently offer much better performance on Linux
24 Nov 2015 at 4:22 pm UTC

Quoting: pete910Still room for improvement then by the looks of it :P
indeed.. though i have 1920x1080 main monitor..
but afaik metro is always running at 2560x1440 and then either downscaling or upscaling to correct resolution.

Quoting: pete910The new driver compiled fine on mine with the 4.14 kernel that i'm on.
Did a quick test of metro rdeux on stock 290x @ 1440p

Anyone with a NV card do a comparison, I thought I had done some with previous driver versions but guess not
with a crappy AMD CPU and not so high end 970
