Steam Client Beta Add FPS Counter
5 January 2015 at 1:45 pm UTC

nice... ziggurat ran mostly above 80 fps for me on maxed 1920x1080
i do use __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 though with my 660Ti

neat little thing..maybe a bit too small and i agree that it needs some colors, like 60+ in purple, 45+ in green 30+ in yellow and anything below 30 red

ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Reviewed

Quoting: EKRboi...
The Roccat MK Pro has 2 things that kind of bother me. The first may not really be an issue but as I can't get my hands on one to try it does worry me. It is the T# buttons below the space bar.. A.) what are they for? and B.) do they get in the way? I don't really want/need macro keys.

those T buttons below spacebar wont be a problem, they dont activate when you just accidentaly hit it with your thumb or similar, which is rare to occur anyway.
those are mostly used for profile switching or whatever else you configure under them.. those buttons need some more force than other buttons so they are not accidentaly activated.

I have Ryos MK Glow

mostly i like the new web design

couple of issues though:

1) i badly need dark theme - too much white kills my eyes
2) the featured section picture is way too big and eats too much space
3) weird space(big gap) between gol icon and the rest of the links on the top panel/bar
4) on the front page when some article has 2 digits for amount of comments the line is split weirdly

Windows Games On Linux, WINE & PlayOnLinux
18 December 2014 at 12:16 pm UTC

i wanted to use PlayOnLinux but i always felt the interface quite slow and weird
specialy the parts where its configuring something or making shortcuts etc (its like windows with lots of next, next buttons imo)

i'm mostly using my own scripts for standalone wine versions and prefixes
i sometimes use playonlinux compiled wine packages though which i download from here:
http://www.playonlinux.com/wine/binaries/ and then just extract to the place where i want.

my basic scripts are like that: http://pastebin.com/Xhr7K2ty
then also same scripts for winecfg, winetricks and regedit.

i just copy those scripts to new game folder and then modify the game executable :)

that's how i like to keep my stuff organized

Quoting: XodetaetlAre there more details about "Improved support for restoring display mode" ? It would be nice if it meant that Wine now restores the screen res when a low res fullscreen game crashes.

wait what? this issue has been fixed long time ago.. when they updated the xrandr support in wine
havent had this issue for years imo... this was fixed i believe somewhere in wine 1.5.x something

Nice, i played beta a while back and it was decent fun, but im not good at those types of games :)
Gameplay still reminds me a lot of teeworlds, but like said previously here its a bit different, not by much though.
