Quoting: EhvisThat's more about the technical stuff. I meant a game where it should make a difference.
Cyberpunk 2077, The FINALS, Apex Legends(DX12), Deep Rock Galactic, Ghostrunner ...etc

VKD3D-Proton version 2.12 adds NVIDIA Reflex support
18 Mar 2024 at 10:49 am UTC

Quoting: rustigsmedSo I'm assuming with reflex support - nVidia frame generation may work now for those are after some fake frames.
Not yet.
Tbh its kinda pointless to have higher number of frames anyway when the input is like low fps.. yeah reflex will make input better but you can enable reflex without framegeneration also to make input feel nicer.

But reflex support is quite nice and seems to somewhat work with the games i tried, but hard to really say how much actually improved. My brain is old and slow.

Fedora Workstation 41 will drop GNOME X.Org session as fallback option

X11 still works perfectly here.. Multiple different refresh monitors and the likes have not been an issue on X11, just have to sync to highest refresh in order to prevent vsyncs/compositors cap to lowest.
Im quite sure that X11 will be still around quite some time. I personally can't switch before my Desktop Environment of choice starts supporting it fully without any edge case issues..So plenty of time to still roll on X11.

FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage updated with Steam Deck support and no more DRM

I always remembered that it looked better than Flatout 2 ... but its more blurry and low textured than Flatout 2 imo, water and reflections look a bit nicer though and there's more AI opponents racing. Other than that its just Flatout 2 with few tweaks here and there.

Also for some reason it shows Controller prompts in the menus, Even though i have no controllers connected. Still works with keyboard though, just have to remember the buttons.

Works out of box with Proton 9.0 (Beta) that i had selected.

AMDGPU driver for Linux 6.7 enforces lower power limits from vBIOS
6 Mar 2024 at 8:35 am UTC Likes: 1

Shouldn't the powerlimit range come from VBIOS anyway.. depending on the GPU.
136W minimum for a 6600XT surely sounds a bit too high for a Minimum. On nvidia at least usually the limit ranges are sane. Higher end GPUs have higher minimum thats allowed.

RTX 3080 for example:

 GPU Power Readings
        Power Draw                        : 37.30 W
        Current Power Limit               : 370.00 W
        Requested Power Limit             : 370.00 W
        Default Power Limit               : 370.00 W
        Min Power Limit                   : 100.00 W
        Max Power Limit                   : 370.00 W

NVIDIA disclose new driver security issues - Feb 28

Spoiler, click me
If you use x11 you shouldn't have faced any issue. The problem is with Wayland. I've been suffering them and there are a lot of people having too, you can check their forums on the Linux section.

https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux/148 [External Link]

Although 535 was still stable for me, some people already had some then. And they messed enough with them to make playing on Wayland impossible. They were really outdoing themselves for a while, I almost got some hope thinking playing on Wayland as an Nvidia user would be possible.
Ahh ok, wayland, yeah, but X11 still works perfectly, so why is there sudden rush with wayland? its not even default on most distros yet.. Give it some time.

NVIDIA disclose new driver security issues - Feb 28

security issues has been a thing for quite some time for many things. Usually developers get some time to prepare fixes ahead when those issues are discovered and before becoming public. So i dont really see much of a problem with that since all the drivers have been already updated with fixes.

what mess has nvidia made with drivers recently? the drivers have been working flawlessly for me quite some time... i think there where few game regressions with early 535 versions but updated ones fixed those and 545.xx and current 550.xx have been super solid also.

What I would like NVIDIA to be doing is release a update o NVReflex and Frame Generation support, that be neat.
