Quoting: Sputnik_tr_02Just downloaded the game. I needed to add this command to launch options to get the game working. ( Thanks to Xpander )

__GL_GlslUseCollapsedArrays=0 %command%

Game works fine so far, no visual glitches or anything. Loading takes a long time though and mouse feels awkward in the opening scene. Performance is not very good on my system, i hope it gets better.
loading is now like 5-10 sec even when generating new map (on a SSD), first time it took like 2 minutes on the "Cleaning Up" section.

and yeah that command is needed for 396.xx drivers except 396.45
it performs well, looks good and now the input works really good also

I just like the standalone package from their homepage, So i can easily put it to where my actual games are.

Feral Interactive have no plans to put their Linux ports on GOG

Quoting: ageres(conspiracy theory mode on) What if Valve gives some benefit to developers who don't put their games on GOG?
doubt about that, but they might take smaller cut from sales if the game is released for linux, so feral will get a bigger cut maybe.

thats all insane speculation though, no facts.

Want to play Track Mania Nations Forever on Linux using Wine? There's a snap for that
13 Jun 2018 at 9:22 pm UTC

This game has worked in wine for years with pretty good performance even. I have had countless hours of online fun with this game under linux back in the days. This game and WoW were the first games i played in wine back in 2006-2007 and they both worked pretty good.

Valve have released a new Steam Beta Client with a richer Discord-like chat interface
12 Jun 2018 at 9:13 pm UTC

I like the direction overall, and nice features but there are major issues:

  • tab bar in the chat window needs resize option badly, way too big and waste of space

  • text input field and buttons on the bottom are way too big and need resize options

  • spaces between messages are way too big and waste a lot of space. Compact mode would be nice

  • no drag and drop for pictures, sending pictures from the button will open up super bad steam navigation window, where its almost impossible to find the file you wanted to upload

  • let us disable game groups from our friends list

  • give names to the windows so wmctrl can be used, atm all of them have just group name Steam but no actual window name
thats all atm from my fast testing.

persistent open world battle royale? if that works i'm interested.
Trailer doesn't reveal much at all though, needs some actual gameplay footage, rather than trailers first person camera without any info.
