Really good game and performance is superb also. Runs over 100 FPS with all cranked to max @1440p. Super smooth and lots of great action and full of cliche action movie humor

The survival game 'Rust' has come a long way, I've completely changed my mind about it

Quoting: sigzThe game runs correctly in my old hardware (gf 770, i5 4690k, 16GB ram) at @60fps most of the time in medium details.. I say most of the time because sometimes without any reason framerate drops to 20fps where it usually runs at 60. So I reconnect and this fixes framerate.. Strange behavior.
Never had such issues that the framerate goes down. have played several hours in row, max being 7 hours in a row
i bet its either RAM gets full and it starts swapping if you have swap or VMEM gets full and its starting to throw up :D

Quoting: eloThank you for this server, Liam! My partner and I have had so many great moments so far, even met the only guy we kinda sorta trust.

I very much recommend this game, but be prepared to run it on low settings unless you have very up-to-date hardware as the game starts chugging badly on higher settings after a while (seems like vram is very important for it)
VRAM is important indeed. I have seen it go beyond 6GB VRAM @1440p and pretty much all maxed. also System Ram is important. People with 8GB might want to look away from this game as the game starts with 8GB and goes up to 10.2GB after several hours of playing. Haven't had performance issues myself, but i have pretty beefy PC @1440p im around 55-65 fps most of the time, goes up to 70 inside the buildings. @1080p its 80+ constantly
that is with all maxed except high quality bloom off, motion blur off, parallax at 1 out of 2

also. Created a "Cinematic" Gameplay video about the game also (highly recommended to watch at 1440p60 as youtube doesnt give bandwidth for 1080p)

Quoting: KetilARK stops warping my cursor once it is outside the game window, which is how it should be. Although even ark is a bit annoying as it detects the cursor move and move the field of view first. Games like rust and ark are games where you want to see what is going on while doing other stuff.
you can do that, by marking the rust as always visible. then switch to other workspace and use your stuff from other monitor while rust is always visible on every workspace on the other monitor :)

Quoting: egeeI'm a pretty big Rust fan and I've been playing it on Linux for almost 2 years now so I think I can provide some insight into the questions folks have been asking about it :)

Performance - Rust's performance on Linux has never been *great* because it uses bleeding-edge features of the Unity engine. For what its worth, it doesn't even run on Windows that great, depending on the build version. My recommendation is to only run the game on "Fastest" or "Fast" preset and then tweak the graphics settings in-game to your liking. Also, the Unity engine tends to favor Nvidia cards so if you are using an AMD card, make sure you have the latest drivers.

I Would say performance is really great, pretty much maxed out 1440p and constantly 60+ fps without any big drops, i call it a success... ofc if you have a bit lower end hardware you probably need to drop down some graphical settings.

Quoting: KetilIt is quite annoying that I cannot move my mouse pointer outside the game without opening inventory or main menu. Even if I use shortcut to warp mouse to my other monitor, the game warps it back.
I'm so used to just hit esc or birng up inventory and then go to my other monitor so its not a problem for me
