ARK: Survival Evolved plans to use Vulkan for Linux this year

That is some great news.. performance is OK, runs mostly over 40 fps all maxed for me but some of the nice graphical effects are missing from linux client due to it being stuck on super old UE4 engine.. 4.5 namely and only supports opengl3.3.

can't wait to try again when vulkan renderer is added.
currently have clocked nearly 200 hours of fun with this game, well worth the money as well as that payed DLC that everybody hates is fair in my book because so much new content is added.

System76 have been working with NVIDIA on Linux driver fixes, a chat with the System76 community manager

Quoting: Mountain ManAMD has really done a disservice to the Linux community with their poor support. If it wasn't for Nvidia, Linux gaming wouldn't be where it is today.
completely agree.
nvidia might be evil, but we wouldnt be here without their driver support like it or not

Survival racing game 'Distance' has a big update with ghost car and replay support

speed sensation is there for me, lack of opponents can be fixed with multiplayer, but in game like this opponents don't really work anyway, cause the tracks are so crazy and if one gets stuck somewhere its race lost :D

game is fun but i dont really like the jumping and flying :D

Quoting: AimelaWhile it would be somewhat nice for GeForce Experience to arrive on Linux, what I really want to see is for nvidia-settings to be as good as the Nvidia control panel in Windows.
hope you dont really want that mess and bloat that windows version has.
nvidia-settings on linux is so much better, but i agree we could use some more options there.

great news, i played about 3 hours on linux, performance was very bad in places, like with most unity4.x games.
Havet to try the unity5.x version, im quite sure it will perform a lot better.

The Other 99, an UE4 single-player action & survival game is waiting on fixes from Epic for a Linux version

Quoting: slaapliedjeIs this the same thing that also makes ARK turn into an Acid trip on Linux?
might be, but afaik ARK has this issue because they are using old UE4 (4.5) and is opengl3.3 limited which has this bug.

But some opengl4 UE4 games like The Isle and Fragmented have also shader issues, water shaders namely.

Is it the ground texture and water shader bug? those things are also present in some early access games like The Isle and Fragmented

Game looks really good though, hope this issue gets fixed.

im sucker of survival games, yes many are early access and pretty much never leave from it, but good ones have lots of content worth of their money :)

Quoting: Xpander32bit should die allready.. seriously.

make the client fully 64bit also!
No, then people would lose access to the ability to download games that they've paid for the right to play. There must be some alternative in that case: some way to download the game itself on a 32bit system.
all games should be 64bit anyway nowadays.. valve can force devs to make 64bit versions only i guess.
