Quoting: BumadarThe i5 12400 is cheap compared to the amd 5600x and they are really close performance wise, but looking a bit further, the motherboard prices are higher, so seems a total package will be around the same price. But since amd did not really have competition in this segment there was no need for them to drop prices till now.
Read till the end, they've also announced low-end chipsets. Although you should avoid the H610, since that only has one memory channel.
Ty, I did, but I still think in the end it will be around the same cost/performance
Well, a leaked price list from Asus shows them going down to $120, so I don't see how?
as I said, amd did not have to drop prices till now, as there was no competition in this segment, so they will and we going to end up pretty similar. But time will tell.

Anyone know a good readup about this oneAPI? The programmer in me keeps thinking why the heck would you want one huuuuuuge api that does everything instead of an api for a specific task... but maybe I am getting old

Quoting: ObsidianBlkOn the flip side, Linus has been heavily in the tech industry for years. Granted, he's predominantly Windows focused, but he should be well versed enough in the quirks of computers in general to know that, unless you're familiar with a particular situation, you don't just blindly ignore warnings. I get that this whole challenge is them trying to work with Linux like an Average(tm) gamer, but Linus is not. He's got more IT qualifications than an average gamer and the fact he nuked his system kinda makes me feel like he almost intentionally played dumb in this particular situation. I don't actually think he did, but he definitely came off looking like a sloppy IT professional to me in that moment.
Linus primary goal is to make money like so many others on YouTube and twitch etc etc.
A headline "Linux hates me" will be clicked and watched a lot more then "Linux loves me".
So yes I find it fair so assume it was intentionally.

I can't count how many times I messed up my linux installs in the early days but I learned a lot from that, including reading of messages instead of clicking OK.

But I guess as Linux becomes more mainstream and the masses begin to use it, it needs to be more dummy proof.

Dreading they day we need to install symantec for Linux.....

Am not British or anything, but putting thatcher in that list seems a bit extreme?
