I got the game on GOG. What's the point of taking away the download option for people who have already bought it on itch? Will they try to get rid of Steam and GOG versions for prior owners as well?

Quoting: amataiThis move is not so much a gift to players than a way for Paradox to reduce development cost.Yes, that's probably the reason. It's baffling that a company that always pushes a huge number of DLCs makes such mistakes. Your example of two separate war systems remind me of the people that demand that Euro Truck Simulator 2 should have a paid DLCs that improve the quality of the base map (including older DLCs) creating two sets of maps that have to be supported at the same time instead of going over all the old content slower as free updates.

Two observations:
- Windows and the “I hate that type of d-pad” type d-pad. Don't want that.
- It looks like an Acer device. Don't want that either.

Why do they take any money? Shouldn't they stay true to their branding and only accept NFTs or other blockchain crumbs?

Quoting: CatKillerIt's also similar to the Blackwell games and Whispering Willows.Indeed (although I haven't played Whispering Willows). But it does not look like them, while it closely matches the style of Darkside Detective.
