Anti-grav Wipeout tribute racer BallisticNG v1.3 adds new tracks, vehicles and game modes

Quoting: constI bought this game because of a recommendation here a few years back. Sadly, it wasn't for me. To me, it felt more like the original PS1 Wipeouts and I somewhat got used to the much more comfortable feeling of Wipeout HD (Fury).
Redout is pretty good too, I think it's currently in a bundle over at fatical :)

Meh. I'm completely uninterested by yet-another typewriter keyboard (staggered layout). Join the ortholinear gang!

MineClone2 version 0.81.0 (free Minecraft-like) for Minetest out now

Quoting: LeflWhat differentiates this game from minecraft?

Or rather, why should I play this when the real Minecraft exists?
Minetest is much more than a single game, it's closer to Garry's Mod. It has first-class mod support, and isn't much without them (it's more of a game engine indeed).

So you can mix-and-match mods to play the game however you want, and play multiplayer with other people on the same mods.

Mineclone here tries to reproduce the base Minecraft games, and is a collection of mods for minetest that add blocks, mobs, mechanics, etc. You can also pick a few of these pieces individually, and/or build on Mineclone to create new experiences closer to modded classic minecraft. With minetest mods.

Also, it runs better on low-end machines in my experience, though the sort of low-powered machine that can barely run minecraft is getting harder to find, thankfully :P

In Minetest terminology, Games [External Link] are collections of Mods [External Link], that aim to provide a playable (fun to play) set of defaults. Mods provide functionality.

Team Fortress 2 update adds VScript and you can now run Linux inside it

Wow, that is awesome!

This will make TF2 able to compete with Garry's mod :)

Halo Infinite also has a pretty impressive forge mode... I'm glad developers embrace fan-made creations more and more.

Also, that shouldn't be an issue cheating-wise. Those scripts are part of the map, everybody gets them. Also, there is nothing new that you couldn't do client-side before. It's just easier distribution-wise.

Want to play a minigolf game? Just connect to the right server, it will DL the map. No mods to install client-side.

Still no splitscreen :P

More seriously, nothing changed. There's still a hack to get achievements and campaign progression without EAC, but no online play with EAC enabled.

There are a few references on https://areweanticheatyet.com/ [External Link], but it has less info than this post. Here's their latest update [External Link].

Portal with RTX releases on December 8th

Quoting: ShmerlCalling ray tracing RTX is misleading, unless they mean it's going to work with Nvidia only. RTX refers to Nvidia only hardware that implements ray tracing.
Right, I agree, but nvidia made this mod/remake/dlc, so I feel like they have the right to name it like that :)

I will test it on my GPU anyway, with RADV_PERFTEST=rt, get 4 FPS if I'm lucky (same as quake II RTX), and play around with the resolution. Who knows, maybe it's playable at 360p with my hardware (R9 Fury, FIJI, GCN, pre-RDNA so no HW acceleration for BVH intersection IIRC) :P

The Next-Gen update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with FSR 2.1 should be fun for Steam Deck

Quoting: ShmerlI wouldn't count on ray tracing working with AMD yet, but radv is getting there.
IIRC it works quite well with the AMDGPU-PRO driver, less so with the fully open-source AMDVLK, and the performance is quite mediocre (but steadily improving) with RADV, the community-ran driver that's part of mesa and that everybody uses (which is better for other things... raytracing was not a priority).

One good thing about RADV/mesa is that they added software-based fallbacks, so you can test raytracing even if you don't have a fancy GPU (just get ready to expect single-digit FPS) just with `RADV_PERFTEST=rt` (works on my R9 fury -- FIJI/GNC with Quake 2 RTX, although the game dips below 1FPS when I fire the weapon).

Valve update desktop Steam Stable Client with the New Big Picture Mode option

I think I see it on AMD, but it's obscured by a fun account alert that I kept around (reminder to order my Steam Deck before 01/01/1970) to see if they ever fix it. Those account alerts are handled terribly by the new bpm.

Mixing factory management, Tower Defense and RTS - Mindustry 7.0 is out now
15 Nov 2022 at 1:59 pm UTC

Yaay, very cook game, one of all-time favourite. I also hooked some friends up :)

Did you take a clue from my hint? :P

This update was released much sooner than I expected. I have't tried it yet as I'm busy, and it tends to be a huge time-sink.

Wow, this looks much better than I expected!

In other news, the similar and open-source Mindustry had a massive update recently :)
