The 'Razer DeathAdder Chroma' is quite possibly the nicest mouse I've ever owned

The fact that it doesn't work well anymore also slows me down on my "ratctl" driver development.
A feature I really enjoyed on this mouse was the horizontal scroll wheel, which can be extremely useful at times. And changing sensitivity with the press of a button can also be handy :)

Quoting: rudzhaYou did some research before your purchase, right?Ha, I also have a very old RAT9 that just feels wrong at times (switching modes randomly, battery draining rather quickly, pointer motion sometimes erratic, etc.). I am looking for a replacement as well.
I'm looking for a new Linux "gaming" mouse, because my Saitek/Mad Catz R.A.T. 7 is falling apart.
Can you suggest any other brands and mice that work well with Linux and/or have Linux support?

As for the "most official" part, I find it harder to find more official than a release announcement, but perhaps you were referring to the way of getting it on ubuntu?

Quoting: LinuxwarperI used following article to use a Mesa PPA that was more official, and was wondering if it's being maintained or not?Well, just looking at the PPA [External Link], there is a mesa 17.1 release candidate that has been uploaded three days ago.

He might have his reasons, although I agree that using a 32 bit distribution on a 64bits CPU is probably not a good idea, unless you have very specific needs.

Quoting: HoriLOL there's literally just one single person on this site (at least amongst those who are part of the statistics) that uses a 32bit distro. Good job dude, IDK how you can survive with that, but good job!Hey, calm down, I'm still using my 32 bits atom-based laptop, just not as a main platform (and I am OK with not getting any new games on it).

Then, I don't think it really comes in the way of some features: usually, a user ID or HTML/HTTP-style escaping would do. But that's your call on this one.

Quoting: liamdaweOh, sorry about that. I must have missed your email. Feel free to s/@/a/, I just want to avoid having two different usernames for two somewhat related websites (and would actually like some kind of merged profiles).Quoting: M@yeulCEDIT: No way to register with special chars in the username? I must say I am disappointed :(Nope, we locked that down on GOL ages ago too, pretty sure I emailed you and everyone else asking if we could change your username. Special characters get in the way of certain stuff we might do in future.

I guess it is a step toward unified (G/L)OL logins?
Did you consider a mechanism similar to OpenID? I am just wondering...
But thanks, I will check that out.

I wish I had backed this one... Well, you can never know, my apologies to the dev team. I will probably buy it on release.
Speaking about badges, I have been thinking about implementing some groups in the GOL website (I haven't looked at the code yet). One could imagine a group per studio, within a "Game dev" group, or something similar. The idea being to add a tooltip to the badge, indicating what game the dev is working on. And maybe a nice place for a studio showcase (Feral: who we are, or similar). Would you be open to such a thing, Liam?

Yes, it could use a bit of polish, I might try to contribute, one day :)

Quoting: AskQuestionsLaterI had not realized the scripts download was already automated. I played a bit online this time, and this is exactly what I was looking for.Quoting: M@yeulCSpeaking of Minetest, is it usable as a full game, including the survival aspect of it? I've seen projects like Voxelands or Minefix that try to achieve this, so I was under the impression that is was not (plus, last time I played it, there wasn't much to do).Base minetest (without the mods) is a fairly quiet place without much life. However, mods are trivially easy to add and there are many extremely good ones, including modpacks that provide a quick starter on adding to the base build.
I have both minetest and minecraft servers running at home, and my children (7 and 9 years old) still play on both servers. Generally I'd say that the animation and polish in minecraft is better, but the ease of modding and variety available in minetest provides a highly interesting world.

AMDGPU-PRO 17.10 driver released

This won't solve the problem, though. I guess Valve didn't update the .deb on their website with the latest version.
This comes from the fact that the Open source drivers are compiled against a newer version of the libraries present in the runtime.
Try to launch it with:
Then, update steam (opt into beta branch if necessary, I've been staying there for more than three years :P).
You might need to install some libraries to launch steam, though. Another way of fixing it is to launch
Then restart Steam. Not the cleanest way, but I used to to it regularly before having the steam-native option on Arch.
I agree with the others, though. You should install only one graphics PPA. Probably x-swat, as it should be more stable, but you might choose otherwise (I am not using Ubuntu, so I don't have much experience with those PPAs).

There is so many Minecraft open source clones, it's a bit sad that no one reached feature parity; It feels like dispersing the efforts. Oh well, it's the same as Linux distribution. And, Open Source Will Prevail let's not forget it's cancer! (Quoting some Ballmer guy). Given enough time, these projects will likely grow a distinct personality. And they are probably around to stay.

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionSad to say that I no longer want to invest time into Minecraft simply because it is now at risk of spontaneously ending support for Linux.
