More information is coming out of Aspyr thanks to a reddit, and the news is all pretty good. Not only are they looking at releasing a new port soon, but they are looking to GOG too.

On talking about their new port on reddit they said this:
Aspyr_BlairI never gave a date, but only said in the new year.
We are close to the reveal, super close actually and our team is getting super jittery and excited. As promised, it will be a game that NOBODY saw coming. Over 1000 guesses across the net, and nobody has come close.
Darth is right, we did this one for love. We hope you like it, but we are cool if you dont ;)

I don't know what it is, as Aspyr have kept extremely tight lipped about this. It's quite surprising that not a single person has guessed what it is yet.

Among the many questions and comments on another reddit post, one user asked if they considered bringing their games to GOG. Aspyr replied that it's in currently in the talks with GOG:
Aspyr_BlairTo your points on GOG, I am actually in talks with them now and (if successful) it wont be long before you see Aspyr titles up there.

I know a fair few people steer clear of Steam, so if they do manage to get their games on GOG then it's win-win for all Linux gamers.

would love it to be GTA 5, KOTOR or FIFA. Problem with FIFA is, EA and their love of Steam :-/.

All in all, can't wait to find out what it is! My wallet is ready.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroJust a theory, but could it be Heroes of Might and Magic III?

Oh I hope so - I all of the "Heroes of Might and Magic" games to date in my GOG.com library (though the first three games are the best), and I'd love to play them natively in Ubuntu... Heck, I'd even pay for them again, if I had to!

Hummm,

Games people would not expect but are universally loved:
Ages of Empire 2
Any Elder Scrolls
Fallout
Starcraft? Now that's a throwback into the past

Personally, I am confident that Aspyr will put out a great game.

As in the Microsoft game?

Yeah right - we've got about as much chance of Bill Gates announcing that he'll be using Ubuntu going forwards as we do of that happening!

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong (I love the franchise, but am sick of playing it via PlayOnLinux), but it's never going to happen...

Yes it can happen.
On this list are 3 MS Games, ok the Devs are not MS but the Publisher:

And now MS open his dot NET framework and made it opensource. So MS open his doors to Linux and other platforms.

Why not with Games, too?
I hope MS will do it.

Throwing in one guess, as random as it gets:

The original Metal Gear Solid :)
Zeitgeist Jan 18, 2015
Did anyone guess Diablo? It will never be Age of Empires because it is using Directplay. Therefore the whole network protocol has to be rewritten.

Star wars ? (I'd take galactic battlegrounds, but it's not on their list). Battlefront ?

Maybe... COD ? I would pass my turn, then :/
C&C ? SupCom ? Again, I'm only quoting games I like...

Maybe DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE. :S:

Not necessarily, since it's only about distribution so far. Unless CDPR asked them about porting. I really hope they'll use them rather than Virtual Programming though.
