Valve launched another small Steam Beta update for all gaming platforms recently, here's the details on what's changed for May 26th.

On the Desktop side the changelog notes:

General

  • Fixed option to clear custom backgrounds and logos not showing in library.

Steam Overlay

  • Fixed a rare case where GameOverlayUI64.exe could stop responding and use too much CPU.

Steam Input

  • Fixed Steam Controller input in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

Remote Play

  • Fixed the Steam Link app not showing the computer as online after pairing in some cases.

The Steam Deck / SteamOS Client update has the same changes.

Valve hasn't replied yet about the recent issue we reported with the Steam Controller Puck, but they did push out a pretty quick stable Steam Client update for all platforms a number of hours after publishing that noted:

Steam Controller Firmware

  • Address potential charge issue when controller is removed from charging puck.

We'll no doubt see a good number of updates coming in over the next few months for the new Steam Controller, while Valve act on feedback as more people get their hands on one. Be sure to check out my initial review of the new Steam Controller too!
