@slaapliedje: Thanks for your summary.

I have sent them an email and ask if their new console is based on steamos. I let you know if they answer.

Atari Vault is cool, I have it. I have joined their newsletter, and was even one of the people who was sent the original ataribox.com email about it.

Someone on atariage.com also posted the generic reply for applying to be a developer. It still didn't really reveal anything.

I wonder if/when they would send out devkits.

They have sent me this boilerplate:

QuoteHey there!

Thank you SO much for contacting us!

We are insanely slammed right now (dropping the first teaser, E3, and
lots more going on!). We will try to get back to you as soon as possible
and keep you posted in case of any new updates.

Thanks again for reaching out, we'll keep in touch!

The Ataribox project.

But this mail came over the Microsoft network (outlook.com). I think now there will be no Steam Machine. Just a feeling.

I may be wrong, but I didn't think they showed anything at E3, right?

I have noticed nothing in the press except the interview with the CEO.

Being that my first home console was the venerable Atari 2600 and my first computer was an Atari ST, I am cautiously optimistic about this news. Can't wait to see what it actually is.
