Death Trash is doing well and has made back its development costs

I played this at a friend of mine with local multiplayer, and I have to say that I was really impressed with how incredibly well it worked!

The game supports both split screen and playing on the same screen, but for split screen it's also possible to attach a second monitor, with each player using one of them. This mode is declared experimental and indeed there are a few minor problems (like quests only shown on one screen or when joining conversations), but the overall feeling is just amazing! If you can grab a friend: Play it! Locally!

The Linux version including all those strange monitor setups worked rock solid for us.

Embracer Group swallows up even more developers and publishers

How do you in-organically grow a group?
This is the business term for "buy another company" - so exactly what they just did. Organic growth is when you hire people (and develop new products) yourself.

They've not indicated otherwise so we assume so.
There was a backer update today:
Linux and Mac will be supported shortly after launch - timing on that is TBC.

Fleshy RPG with cosmic horror 'Death Trash' hits Early Access on August 5 with a demo soon

I happened to stumble over the Saftladen location when I was visiting Berlin for a conference - the office was in the same building as the pre-conference location (though it seems they have moved in the meantime).

I still regret that I didn't just knock on the door - the location is home to several amazing indie game studios, including one of my favorite developers Studio Fizbin (The Inner World series), inbetweengames (All Walls Must Fall), noio (Kingdom series), Maschinen-Mensch (The Curious Expedition) and several individuals having worked on games such as Unmechanical. And Death Trash of course, so get back to this article.

The Seagull is an upcoming stylized 3D adaption of the classic by Anton Chekhov

Hm, I'm not really sure what to think about this. First I should mention that I love Chekhov's works (I've seen Ivanov, Three Sisters and The Cherry Orchard in theater and read several of his short stories), but at least the theater plays are very depressing and do not contain a lot of action (just like Purple Library Guy said: The protagonists usually love to lament about their fate without having any motivation to change it).

Video games on the other hand are living from their dynamic nature, and that seems to be the complete opposite of Chekhov's plays :-) While in theater it doesn't matter if there's only one single scene (because the live experience and the actors are predominant there), in a video game that's a bit odd... And I guess that's the reason why the trailer is looking quite boring to me.

I really hope that there is an audience for such games though :-)

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI guess that's sort of the point, but everyone's so annoying that it's just a pain in the ass reading/watching it. The Cherry Orchard put me off Chekhov. Maybe The Seagull is better.
You may want to try some of his short stories, those often contain a lot of humor. Try e.g. Kashtanka as a (longer) example if you want to have a good mix of both his humor and typical bitterness. I haven't read / seen The Seagull yet, but the summary doesn't make it sound like you would enjoy this play any better :-P On the other hand: If you've only read it I'd recommend to watch it live anyways, that's a completely different experience.

Reverse engineered PlayStation classic Driver 2 reimplementation has a Beta out now

Quoting: hardpenguinYou know what the problem is? Contrary to GTA3 and GTA:VC it is not possible to purchase a digital copy of Driver 2. Even a PC version never existed!
On the other hand you can easily find a copy on eBay, it's not like Driver 2 would be an especially expensive or rare game. Just compare that to some of the games supported by ScummVM (like some of the early Sierra adventures) which are nearly impossible to get nowadays (especially when looking for localized versions).

And the music (and parts of the visual design) reminds me of the Ghost in the Shell movies, combined with Front Line Assembly's Quake III soundtrack. The whole game seems to be a reference to other games or movies to me, but combining them in a unique way - and touching so many good memories while doing so

Ah, THAT's why the name sounded so familiar - and now I remember I even tried the email program for a few months back then
