And I am too afraid to remove the -nojoy command from the launch options for the moment

Quoting: LoftyIndeed, management of mouse event that are not caught between screen layers is also a pain.Quoting: BogomipsThey can't even get rid of text issues in CS:GO :) (The demoui control panel is unusable).worse for me is that the support for custom servers is bad. None of the servers i try to connect to will load maps as there is some weird naming format that doesn't seem to jive well with Linux on custom maps, it might even just be a case sensitive thing but it stop's me joining prop hunt / jail or zombie maps for years now, i have to play CS:source for that
Not to mention the custom server list glitches and you lose the mouse cursor and you have to tab, alt-tab, shift-tab a few times to try get it back so you can choose a server....
CS:GO on Linux is just a mess. At least you don't have to still put in a custom launch command to disable joystick in order for it to launch now. But it crashes quiet frequently on my system using OpenGL. The Vulkan option makes it run smooth but the shaders take so long to cache and load in you can lose the first few rounds with stutter.
would be nice if it could load on Proton but ironically Valve games can't seem to do this to well.

@Liam, did you encounter more crashes with Dying Light 2 (DX12)?
Since the update to proton 7 I can hardly pass the 30 minutes threshold. I will try with DX11 and maybe rollback to proton 6…
Edit: It seems to be a known problem https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5542 [External Link].

Quoting: StalePopcornI'm still messing with settings but, surprisingly, after changing Sharpness from 45 (default, I think) to 60 the game looked and played smoother. I've 'FSR, Quality' setting and, while I found it playable, there was noticeable chunkiness. I'm finding the parkour not as refined as DL1 and, I haven't tried again yet since the update, but I can't bind my mouse's side buttons, but those aren't Linux related problems. Other than that I'm enjoying the game and going back and forth between this and God or War.I have a Logitech mouse so I used Piper to assign keypad's key via macro to the side buttons but you can also look at this post https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2742770845 [External Link]

At the moment my biggest problem is the fact that the game doesn't know what a mouse is…
Extra buttons and wheel are not working at all (cannot be assigned). I use macro with Piper as a workaround but apparently extra buttons are not even implemented (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2742770845 [External Link]).

After 35h, it's just not a fun game for me.

Quoting: lectrodeThis fills the CoD gap on Linux quite nicely for myself and my friends. The fact that it natively supports linux is amazing, and the much faster game load is the icing on the cake. It's my new favorite game of this genre.Yes I know it's by design, but for example in the map with the cascade and beaches (I don't remember its name) if a portal is put in a very high panel you cannot reach it with a grenade and it is extremely hard to reach the other end so most of the time it is an instant death when you try to leave your spawn.
My only gripe with the game is that the starting UI (main menu) is very busy, especially when you first start playing. It definitely takes a while to get used to.
Quoting: BogomipsJust uninstalled it 2 days ago.I can definitely see through a portal both ways, as long as it's one I placed or that a teammate placed. Are you sure you're not looking through an enemy portal? You can't see through those (that's a feature, not a bug). If you don't like the enemy portal being there, you can destroy it with a portal grenade
Apart from the awful UI, what I don't like in this game is that the hit boxes are often way off and portals are not see thru (I mean both ways) so sometimes the game is just spawn killing for 5 minutes.

Quoting: ryadAs a frequent CS:GO player, I have to admit that the recent updates really are doing a great job. After initial micro stutters on the Vulkan renderer, it's now butter smooth and delivers a nice FPS boost. I'm very happy with Valves current work on the Linux platform (not counting the render update fail a few weeks ago  ).Just tested it for 5 minutes, still stuttering for me. I think less than before with a good FPS gain but still not acceptable in competitive.
