Well I am just a casual over here, but I am wondering how was Liam's year in review.

I have been thoroughly testing this game on the OLED SD every day since I got it, and I can confirm it is very ready.

We are living in this parallel reality where this tiny game with a fraction of the content of Total Warhammer 3, is actually more fun and has better onboarding than Total Warhammer 3.

Quoting: SzkodnixDoes anyone have any information if GOG version also got any official Steam Deck support via patch?
I don't have the GOG but this is an official release, so it should apply to the GOG version. We are no longer in the "Steam Deck Beta".

Diablo IV free to play on Steam until Tuesday

Some games are in the category of "I will play that on release".
Some other games are "I'll try that out when it's on a discount".
Some other games are "I'd only try that out if it's a demo, or free to play".
Diablo 4 is "when they pay me".

I personally believe that a giant scorpion flamethrowing robot was the correct idea from a gameplay perspective.

Now, the average customer has to evaluate other games non giant-flamethrower-scorpion-featuring games, or games in which you cannot hurl a moon at your opponent. And this is a great responsibility from the customer point of view.

It sinks my mood, every time I see that picture and it says "Warcraft", and I know very well they have nothing to do with Warcraft 1,2 nor 3. They want to continue on as if those games never existed.

Mortal Kombat 1 released and Steam Deck Verified

This is great news for MK players. First of all, most have a Steam Deck already anyway. Second, there is a Switch version but the graphics of the Switch ports are laughable compared to newer gen consoles.

Valve goes for the smurfs banning 90,000 people in Dota 2
6 Sep 2023 at 2:57 pm UTC

Quoting: HighballI had no idea what smurfing is until I read this article and decided to go dig up the meaning.
Yeah and like you, most people, including most of the people asking for this.

In order to understand how we came to the current system, one must have experienced different ranking systems and algorithms for matchmaking, it's been a long way from the beginnings of LoL, Heroes of Newerth, Dota2... the answer is that it is overcomplicated due to appeasing all players complaints constantly, and doesn't really address the smurfing issue.

Smurfing existed, exists, and will continue to exist, till the end of (videogame) times.

Quoting: Linux_RocksHopefully we get a native Linux version of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Team Reptile has been great about making them, and all their other games on Steam have them. I bought it on Steam vs the Switch because of that reason.
Platinum on ProtonDB and Steam Deck Verified. Just sounds like you're missing out if you actually wanted to play it.

Quoting: ElamanOpiskelijaIn many ways, Linux gaming is moving back and forward at the same time.
Only if you refuse to use Proton for whatever reason. Linux gaming is constantly moving forward thanks to it. The point is to play more games and Proton is a constant win.
Nah man, I'm not missing out. These days, one has to check not only the ProtonDB rating of a game, but the latest reviews in the ProtonDB page, to see if something broke in the last patch. More relevant with newly released games, exactly like the one we're talking about. I only don't want to criticize specifically Games' Kitchen, because they have a really good history of little to no bugs.

Like I said, I already bit the bullet, already had to play Hollow Knight and Dead Cells on Proton, only Blasphemous 1 on native. I know what I'm "missing"...

Same goes with Blasphemous 2 as well. As the first game has a native Linux version.

I know Proton works great, and call me a stickler. But I'll always prefer native Linux support for games. I also like that native Apple Silicon versions of games are coming to Steam sometimes too.
Nah, I'm 100% with you as well! Not only was it native, but it was one of the last best remaining Linux native games out there. Hollow Knight I had to play on Proton, Dead Cells I had to play on Proton. Learning that Blasphemous 2 is not native was so disappointing...

In many ways, Linux gaming is moving back and forward at the same time.
