Quoting: questioner9Heroic is great :) . I wouldn't buy a game via Epic store since they don't support Linux, so use other stores which do, but I'm happy to claim the free games they give out each week and try them with Proton.

Much credit and thanks to Flávio F Lima and other contributors to Heroic on making it so easy. Also thanks to the developers of the Legendary backend.
Have a full games library of 114 free via EPIC Control works flawlessly under Heroic, but can't get Ray Tracing or DLSS working. would need at least a 2TB Nvme to install them.

Linux gaming is on the up for sure.

12th Gen Intel Core processors announced with the 'world's best gaming processor'

Quoting: ShmerlWhat's the pricing for this one? Would be interesting to see benchmarks, but I'm sticking to AMD. They so far decided not to use this cores disparity approach and rather focus on improving all cores as a whole.

Making such mixed cores also will put more burden on OS schedulers to use them in some balanced ways.
Isn't this one going to be a power hog to rival an AMD FX?

Quoting: Arcadius-8606I still own the original DOS version of Quake. It's one of the 6 physical games I did not sale when I downsized my physical game collection recently. I use ezQuake to play it often. Excellent game that still holds up, IMO.
Yup have the DOS install CD with the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack on it. Thats the Quake I installed in DOSBox, and linked to for the RTX reboot in 2019

Quoting: TimGreat. Also mentioned in changelog: support for Nvidia DLSS. Would be interesting to hear some feedback or to see test/benchmarks.
RT support in general would be nice especially for Amid Evil, that needs DX 12

Quoting: Luke_NukemI really want to see Amid Evil RTX working. It sucks that they went all-in on DX (but then, it's Unreal Engine powered so I guess it was expected)
Yes I am waiting for that also along with RT in Control, have the Epic version working in Heroic launcher, just fine.
Also Bright Memory, that looks great with RT, sadly not optional in Linux. Is RT working in Metro Exodus in Linux I wonder?

Talking point: what have you been playing recently?

Been playing the latest update Alpha of Postal 4, sorted the C++ Redist issue, its hilarious Mobility Scooter racing. Also found with the latest Proton, and the Nvidia 470 beta driver Quake 2 RTX worked in Steam, seens as good FPS as native version, Amid Evil won;'t work with RT as yet though, also getting into metro Exodus .

NVIDIA to launch DLSS support for Proton on Linux tomorrow (June 22)

Well if this works out less reason to boot the Windows drive for some games, FSR seems to be a gaming equivalent of upscaling a DVD or a Blu Ray in a 4K player for a UHD panel, results will vary, but won't likely look as good as DLSS.Wonder how Metro Exodus will run in Linux with RT and DLSS?
