Quoting: undeadbydawnMy only question now is will I be able to buy Zen3/Biggest Navi before Brexit tanks the UK economy.
You think its not dead already potentially 5 million unemployed because of covid growth weaker than anywhere in Europe whats worse is in Australia the cost of new parts has dropped by anywhere from 10 to 15 percent where as here in the Uk prices have gone up by upto 10 percent.
Nope. COVID is the warmup. Brexit will kick in good and proper when the borders grind to a total halt and we literally physically can't import anything

SteamTinkerLaunch is a huge all in one Linux wrapper tool for gaming
30 Sep 2020 at 3:50 pm UTC

I'm trying to use this with Final Fantasy XII, and it appears to be doing the grand total of nothing. At all. The stl UI launches, then the game starts, and the game shows no indication whatsoever of being aware stl happened.

Either I'm doing something very wrong or it just plain doesn't work.

Quoting: GuestHonest question - why would I want to use this over Firefox or Chrome, especially on Linux? It seems an odd choice to port over.
to watch netflix at better resolutions?
that's the only potential reason I can think of

Amnesia: Rebirth from Frictional Games confirmed for launch on October 20

Quoting: scaineFrictional are (for me) the absolute masters of horror. I hate horror games. I love Frictional games. Really looking forward to this! In kind of the same way most of us look forward to doing a bungie jump!
They are the only game studio I will automatically give my money. They've 100% earned that trust. Not even the mighty CDPR have that place in my gaming heart.

Quoting: mosso that's what they've been up to.. a tad disappointed, bc of the three games Amnesia came the least to my liking. But oh well, guess have to get it anyway. These guys been too good to not to. After all SOMA couldn't have a meaningful sequel anyways, guess I'd prefer a game in the Penumbra universe, or a whole new world from them.
I have very odd feelings about this. I bought, played and loved every Penumbra game from the day they released the first tech demo. I liked the idea of Amnesia, bought it on release, but didn't play it beyond maybe half an hour, probably because you are genuinely defenseless. I'm playing it, in full, for the first time now because of this mod and appreciating rather than enjoying. And the sound. By the Gods that cockroach-crunching sound has me squirming to the marrow. That sound is significantly worse than being killed by the monsters. As game design goes it's utterly superb.

I will play through Machine when I'm done, and finally hit SOMA.

Meanwhile, you may be aware Penumbra: Necrologue is available on Steam as a standalone Amnesia fan-mod

The Frictional-approved Amnesia Remastered mod is up, and it's glorious. Get it here https://www.moddb.com/mods/amnesia-the-dark-descent-remastered [External Link]

you have to place the included main_settings.cfg in ~.frictionalgames/Amnesia/Main for it to actually work, and work it very much does.

Quoting: TobyGornowI've finished A plague tale, technically & artistically it's astonishing.Loved it from start to finish.
Ooooh, I have been very tempted by that one. It looks amazing and I'm a total sucker for Bill Blake.
Ok, damnit. Sold.

Remember Me
an excellent concept set in a beautiful world built in an engine that only just manages to keep up. A horrible camera and trying-way-too-hard combat system *almost* get in the way of the story, which is superb. Very worth your time if you can find it on sale
Tried Mirror's Edge and repeatedly failed the tutorial (which did not surprise me at all. I'm horrible at platformers and not great at 1st person, and Edge is literally 100% fist person platforming)
Caught RUINER on Humble, which is a decent enough game with one of the best soundtracks ever. I've been listening to the artist -Sidewalks and Skeletons - almost non-stop for days.
Next up is Arkham City and Quantum Break

I also just bought A Plague Tale based on member recommendation

What have you been gaming on Linux lately? Come chat

Quoting: AnzaI played the original Deus Ex without being aware of all the choices that I actually had. It must be easier to enjoy the story if you worry about about choices that you didn't even know you had.
I played the original a very long time ago, and loved it. The sequels not so much

Quoting: AnzaIf Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is your first immersive sim game, there's still plenty to explore.
Not at all. I play immersive sims and RPGs almost exclusively

Quoting: AnzaPrevious Deus Ex games don't have official Linux support, but should work with Proton.
Yup, I played HR immediately before MD, pretty much exactly the same way. HR is 'better' largely in that it wasn't ruined by an idiotic marketing department. Had MD been released without the boatload of stupid gimmicks, and as a complete game, it would probably have been rated as one of the best ever made. As it is, they very obviously released half a game and never made the second part. Given the quality of the game as is, this may well go down as one of the biggest losses in recent years. Other than the ball-ache stealth of Prague pt 3, it really is superb. Mankind Divided performs *vastly* better via Proton than native. The difference is 60fps Ultra vs 25fps Low native. That's absolutely nuts

Quoting: AnzaEven older than that are are the System Shocks. The second one is much easier to get into. First one might feel like a flight simulator, though Nightdive Studios is working on improved version.
I've played SS2, a few years back, and was deeply impressed. The new System Shock demo is on my HD ready to play, and the same team is said to be doing 2 as well

Quoting: AnzaBioshocks might also be fun, third one has even official Linux version. Maybe some day I should also play the first two as I have the first one already.
yes, I recently played all three, and resolved the horrible textures and crashing issues. Loved 1, liked 2 a lot and was, to my surprise, disappointed by Infinite.

Quoting: AnzaAlso I have heard good things about the games Arkane Studios have developed, but I haven't played any of them.
Again, I have all of them, though as yet I've only played part of Dishonored.
