Nice to hear. Another timesink, yay. :D
I wonder about the VR version. I have no idea how you would play such a kind of game in VR, but I'm eager to find it out.

To quote and answer myself:
Yes it does work on the Deck. There's a flatpack for the game in Dolphin, which makes things easy. I was not successful installing the game manually (downloading game, adding it to the Deck and to Steam library), but the flatpack version runs fine.

Here's a quick guide how to install it: Install guide Steam Deck [External Link]

I've played the demo during one of Steams Indie Demo Days and really enjoyed it. It had some fresh gameplay elements, which is kind of rare to see when you've played hundreds of games. Really nice to hear that there will be a native version. Looking forward to it.

Can you really blame developers for backing out of not releasing native linux versions given its less then %1 market share at the time?
[...]
My personal issue was with how they have handled it. Initially they did a Kickstarter where they have promised linux support. When they eventually have released the original version, they said they'd deliver the linux version afterwards. Okay, that's pretty common and understandable to some degree, because they want to rake in some fresh money first.
But then they were like "Okay, now we're working on the EE version of the game and linux will be delivered after that, sorry!!1", which meant more waiting while everybody else and their mum were playing the game we were eager to play.
When they eventually released the linux version (EE), it was completely absent of any Kickstarter goodies some of us have pledged for. To my knowledge even our names were no longer in the credits. That really was unnecessary in my eyes.

That aside, DOS1+2 are pretty good games, but that was not the point some of us were trying to make. :)

Which is part of the reason I'm not giving Larian any money anymore, yes.

They completely fucked up Linux support for Divinity: Original Sin, then had it there for the Enhanced Edition, but by then they already started on Divinity: Original Sin II and didn't merge anything back. Just an utter clown car of a company.
Not to mention that D:OS EE didn't have any of the kickstarter goodies. Still mad about how they have handled Linux back then.

Syncthing is a great way to transfer files from PC to Steam Deck

I'm a little bit late to this party, but since I recently started looking into modding my games, I'm trying this guide to move files to my deck.

One thing I'd like to mention is that, when you don't have a mouse+keyboard+monitor attached to your deck, you might want to look into the software "Barrier", which is available in Discover.

You install it on the deck and your main computer, run it as server on your main and as a client on your deck and then you can share your keyboard+mouse with the deck, which is super helpful. You can also share the clipboard, which, again, is super helpful.

Just one thing, in my case I had to disable SSL on both the client and the server, otherwise it would not work for me. But that's easy (F4 (or "Barrier" -> "Change Settings") -> "Enable SSL" to off).

Just thought that might be useful info to some of you. :)

Steam Deck gets a small update to add more keyboard layouts

What's also very bad is, that it gives me haptic feedback for my keypress, even when it ignores my input.
For desktop mode I've installed an alternative keyboard which works really well. I really do hope that Valve will make the Steam keyboard more enjoyable.

Steam Deck gets a small update to add more keyboard layouts

Is it just me, or is the keyboard pretty unresponsive? It always misses touch inputs and therefore it's a chore to write chat and discord messages with it. That there is no dictionary, doesn't make it any better. Maybe the first issue is theme related?

I've used Discord (Canary) once and voice was working pretty good, until it suddenly stopped working and needed to be restarted. Anyone else had that problem and/or knows how to fix that? :)
